This video describes how to fix a sticky interior door.
Sooner or later, some doors will rub on their frame for one reason or another. One reason is because of loose hinge screws. I made a video of that repair previously.
Another reason is because the wood swells with an increase of humidity. That is what I think happened to this door. This door is an old door repurposed for a newer home. I think it was cut down to size when the wood had a relatively high moisture content. That’s not surprising because the door may have been stored in a barn or come out of an old house.
So it fit at the time of installation. But once in the house, it started to dry out and the top of the door (rail) shrunk more than the sides (stiles) of the door. That is because wood shrinks or swells very little in the long dimension (with the grain, .1-.2%), but can shrink or swell up to 10 % tangentially (across the grain).
