My favorite work saw.. Ported they just plain ROCK! I’m a die hard Husqvarna Jonsered guy and never been a huge Stihl guy but when I got the 400c and had it ported it changed my whole outlook. It’s lightweight and just revs like a mofo. Over a year of daily use and it’s never had a single break down. I just love the damn things

I recently bought this saw and the wrap handle (362) same chassis so it pops right on. Great power! Great revs! Aggressive looking machine - I love it. Great mid size pro saw Plus it has that special factor of the only saw with a magnesium piston for extra revs

I picked a 400C a few months ago. Definitely look into upgrading the oiler. I’ve changed almost all my Stihls oilers to a higher output. They are a little stingy on the oil from the factory. I do have say the Poulans slobber the bar compared to the Stihls. Good luck with it.

I've run Stihl and Husky for 45 years. They're good saws. Just bought an Echo cs 620 PW . Love it.

The ms400cm with a 25" light bar is a great saw .I got several new saw for my business this year and that saw is a stand out .I like it better for some things than the 500i.I put an h.o. oiler on it and a stihl wrap handle kit also.

We have a couple of 400 stihls and a 800 series and I would rather use the 400s because the RPMs stay up high easier without bogging however if you could tune the big saw it would be a beast. I hate auto tune

I just got one with the 25 light bar and I slapped an Egan Straightshot muffler cover on it. Absolutely blown away at the power and balance on these. I thoroughly enjoyed your review from goofing around in the store to you sinking that thing in the saw log! Absolutely hilarious content, entertaining and informative! It is a very nice saw but for me there is no sense in spending that much money. My 268xp was pretty cheap and I fixed it up so it runs good. I think it will be good forever . Cheers

Wonder if they are going to do a "300" saw in the future. Be nice to have a super light, compact, 55-60cc saw with the factory power of a brisco or dyno joe ported 620p but the weight of an 026.

I love mine I’ve had it over a year and did some work to it and I hardly ever ran my 461 after doing the work to the 400 , I even have the west coast clutch cover and full wrap besides the performance mods . They really wake up when you do a little work to them , I’ve ever fell timber with a 32 inch bar on the 400c , it really is a great saw and I think it will take the place off the Stihl ms 440 and husqvarna 372xp I think it’s going to be the next legendary small falling saw

Agreed this is the only stihl chainsaw that I personally have any interest in owning , not that I have anything against stihls but you could give me a 500i or a 462 and I would have it up for sale or trade for a similar size husky or Jonsered But there’s something about the 400c that in the hands doesn’t feel as much like a stihl and that’s probably why it’s the only one I’ve used and liked

I'm stuck between saving a little money and going 391 stihl or splurging to get the 400c. The 391 will work, but that 400 seems just badass.

I forgot to say the oilers are weak so do the 461 upgrade or mod the original. That’s the only fault I’ve seen

If I ever bought another new Stihl it would be the 400c, they're really good saws. It has good power to weight ratio I think. It's got the power and it's a great looking saw. Good muffler mod and retune it would be very impressive

Before you port it, you should do intake/exhaust. It's unreal how much you gain! Then port it. With just intake/exhaust it pulls all 25" EXL with authority. The sweet spot is 10,200 in the cut with crazy chain speed for an otherwise stock saw.

Lots of money to be made flipping saws. I've made several thousands this year doing just that. A lot of people don't understand gas goes bad and sell saws not running and all you have to do is dump the gas out and add new. Happens more often than you would think.

Stihl saws are way to expensive for wut they are , the 500icost $1500 and you get no happy ending , I bought one used for $700 from a guy that went husqvarna 😁 , and he gave the saw saw box stuff he had to purchase xtra and he gave it to me
