As Husqvarna technician I can say that: 592-its probably faulty oil hose-easy fix 540-more complicated, have to be connected to CST diagnostic tool to know whats going on, but from my experience its usual suspect, triger, where is magnet glued on, broken or just fell off the trigger When visiting Czech republic, take a visit and consider it repaired 😀 PS: please another video with Randy in sandals

Wish you lived closer, I'd be happy to fix the 592 for you. Gotta be either the oil pump, orings, or hose, they're pretty simple designs. Gordy could probably figure it out.

Fun to watch you at work Jake, I am just a home owner/camper who burns wood for heat in the winter but have always been fascinated with chain saws and working with them. My first saw was a Stihl 031 and was a great little saw. I now have two saws.....a Stihl MS 250 and a Stihl MS 180. They are all the saw I need and they both work wonderfully. Our 592 did that same thing also, was oil hose inside.. had a hole in it, or it ripped where it hooks onto a plastic nipple or something. It oiled the clutch pretty well. Dude at the saw shop swore up and down we had the wrong bar on it. I'm like the bar says husqvarna... and you sold me the saw with this bar. He's out of business now 😂😂😂

I bought a brand new Husq. Used it once. The next day there was a pool of oil underneath it. Took it back to the dealer. He kept it for two months and said he couldn't find a problem. Returned it and it's been fine ever since. According to YT, there is a known problem where the oil tube falls off under the saw. A bit of trouble to fix but not that bad.

See if your clutch cover bolt studs are backed off at all! I had oil leaking pretty bad on a top handle and the stud had backed off just a little and the bar could not be tightened flush with the rubber seal for the bar oil.

Check you trigger springs on the battery husky. Ours stopped working but would power on like normal and one of the springs in trigger mechanisms had come loose

I bought the MS 500i when it fist came out and have loved that saw. As a woodworker with a bandsaw sawmill it was sad to see those logs cut into firewood, even trees that seem rotten or useless have potential. Many wonderful things can be made from wood that most consider trash

I work at a company that is a dealer for Stihl. If you have time and keep your eye on the inventory in a store, sometimes they have a unit that has been on the shelf for a year or more like I had a 462 and we have very little walk in business because our main line is heavy equipment , parts and service. Stihl increases prices often and the 462 was in my inventory for almost a year and a half and a guy really liked it so in order to move it I gave him a 2 year old price vs the current price which is quite a bit of savings, you just have to ask if they can do better on price. My cost was low enough so the company still makes a profit and the customer saves about 200 bucks depending on the model. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Great video and good safe saw work 👍

Your going to love the ported 500i! I have 2 and they are awesome. Both ported and run 36 bars on them most of the time. Gordy's suspension kit is great for it. Fun saw to run!

I bought my stihl ms 361. I just use it to around the farm. And logged Southern pines that a ice storm damaged. I couldn't image running a 500. Growing up my dad's buddy logged. He ran a stihl 600 or 700 something model saw. I was young. I had too fill there saws up for them. It had a 36 inch bar. Hated carrying that saw around.

I feel the same way, Jake. The 500 is the best all around big saw you can have.

I love using my 500i with all the West Coast Saw stuff on it! I've only had that running like crap issue once but I learned to let it idle for 15 minutes for it to relearn. You should send that Husky to Rip Saw and see what they can do to it.

I just cut firewood in the mountains of central Arizona. I'm running a MS271 which I just bought last November. It does the job, just cutting downed oak trees to fill my Tacoma. I miss my days of the 090, 075, 394xp. I think my smallest saw was an 041. They are logging big red pines up where I've been cutting maybe one of the loggers will let me get my hands on a big thumper for a few cuts.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video! Sounds like you've had a few saws in your hand and for you to compliment the 500i is reassuring. I also took note to you cutting the strap below your back cut. This might help me out in the near future doing the same cut........tight chains and straight bars!

I'm way farther east than you, we have mostly hardwoods here. I run a 28" bar on my (stock) 500i, and even that occasionally bogs down in dead Green Ash. Ported and cutting softer wood, then definitely a 42"!

I personally would rather have an old fashioned carb. Atleast it can be stripped tuned etc. The 500i are brilliant, but i question the longevity. My favourite big saw is still a husquvarna 390xp.

The 500i is definitely a "Buy Once, Cry Once" proposition. I think you'll enjoy that saw.

quich anual maintance thing do yourself the favor and change the sparkplugs once a year keeps them saws running nice

On the family farm, we still use a Stihl from 25 years ago and it still going strong ! lol

I just fixed my 034 stihl. It had a cut in the oiler line. I replaced the line and its back to new. Im not sure if the 592 is similar but it was a fairly easy fix. Send it to me if you want. Cheers

I bought the 400 mtronic over the 462 last year. Then put a muffler, 3 poing dog's and air fillter from west coast saws. Its a screamer and only weights as much as my 290 farm boss.

Some husky saws the metal cover near the clutch cover studs gets gummed up and stops oil from coming out and or leaking, my 372 did the same thing

Jacob if you can throw it out there to Gordy, possibly a West Coast bar box for the 201 TCM, also the 261 CM. If it’s not too much to ask, and a R rap handle for the 261 CM. I know you had yours custom fabricated from John who’s disappeared. Just thinking out loud.

I used to run a 56 super with a 38 inch bar day in and out for years. Those saws had maintenance issues if you ran them 40 hours a week, but they held up better than huskies. Loved the low end torque in the 56 super even with an 8 tooth sprocket, and skip tooth chain.

I like my 500i so much I have two. One running short 40cm bar and the other the 76cm. I also have a 93cm bar for when I need it. Thought about the 661 but I literally cross cut / buck all day as a professional woodcutter. Working 6hrs in the sun / rain etc the 500i is lighter and reliable. Starts every third pull.

Hey Jacob you did a video just recently where you used a double pully to rig down a branch but used it in a way I never seen before. Like it was a 2to1 pulley to help lift it. Could you maybe explaine how you rigged it. Or maybe even a video would be great. Thanks man.

Regarding battery saws have you had a go at the echo dcs 3500 yet? It’s unreal! This is coming from someone who has a collection of classic Stihl professional saws etc… I was very surprised!

It's always been like this for men. I am not a pro, just regular user, but Huskys always giving me that feeling, that they could be more durable/refined/wory free, i don't know. All the way I am a Stihl man

Although I’m not pro by any means, I’ve had way more problems with my Husky saws compared to the Stihls. By the way, my Huskys puke bar oil all the time, including when they are sitting still. The tank will just about empty itself sitting on the shelf.

I'm a husky guy all the way but lately been having some trouble with my huskies and I also have 500i and 261 and never have had any problems with my stihl

I have a 500i I run at work, absolutely wonderful saw. Mine is only stock and wish I could have it ported but the stock saw is amazing. I was thinking about getting one of the aftermarket bark boxes for it but in your opinion is it worth it ?

I thought you did some changes to make your husky run faster, if so the reliability is not as good. Trade reliablility for performance. Open the air flow is one thing but the rest is probably not as good idea if you ask me but its just a subjective thought. Thx for great video!

Most bar oil holes are too small these days, I drilled mine out to the same size as older bars.

When you first fired that up. I was like introducing the 500i weed eater 2500 dollars of weeds nightmares.

You definitely have to port it to cut with a long bar.. stock they don't cut well over 32in. Especially in the face cut.

I have an ancient 064 (OB kit) , and compared to my buddies (stock) 500i, I feel like the 064 has substantially more power, and the weight difference in minimal- which is mine blowing considering the 064 is 35+ years old. I would love to try a ported 500i- might change my mind.

His 7900 was stock, a properly ported 7900 Dolly or Makita will hang with the 500i and at half the cost.
