Joseph McCole I have not run them alongside each other and everyone has their own opinion but I think they are better than a machine with a plug as these are solely designed to mulch only. If you use stihl already I would speak to your dealer about a demonstration.

In the wet depending how long the grass is sometimes you will have to double cut as the machine struggles. Ideal for weekly mulching buy fortnightly can be a struggle if long and wet.

Dagtail Gardens and Grounds most council tenders we complete produce their own but I do produce some for industrial and private customers just stating basic details of what we will deliver at what cost and how frequent just so both parties have something to work with.

It’s more specific to the machine. I’m lucky that we have all sizes of machine so if I think an open area say 500 metres needs boxing off we would use the grillo 48inch collector and work the time out based on that machine but the competition may price the same job and only have a 21 inch walk behind mower so it would take him 3 times as long and triple the man hours so it really is machine specific. We all know roughly how much our own machines will cut per hour. Any help you need drop me a Mail and I will help if I can.

It’s a good mower for regular cutting but long wet grass usually needs 2 cuts. I would try to get a demo first before you buy. We cut weekly with it. It dies struggle at times if we try to use it on fortnightly areas.

They’re good machines for regular weekly mulching but I find 10 days to fortnightly cutting then you end up double cutting with them as they can’t cope with long grass.

@@russelldownesdownes5618 I think sometimes we expect the mulch mowers to do more than they are capable. In dry perfect conditions I can’t fault them.

They are good for regular cutting. If it’s a bit longer sometimes a double cut is required. Grin mowers are really good mulchers but expensive.
