I found this while out looking at a mower. It sat in the weather for a while and needed fuel lines and a carb rebuild.

Well worth saving it for yourself, good strimmers

Something about the way it sounds made me want to keep it. Plus. It starts first pull now. 👍

Bill, i think the fiddle fairies got to that carb before you got it. It should make a nice trimmer for you. I dont pick up much 2 stroke stuff but a couple of days ago i got a Poulan P3314wsa chainsaw from the curb. It looked new but the fuel cap was missing. I got a new cap and filled it with fuel and it runs and looks brand new. My son already wants it. Its no wonder i cant make any coin flipping 2 stroke equipment! Lol. 🤔 👍🎥🇺🇸

This is pretty common when you rebuild a 2 stroke carb with flathead screws. The owner will keep turning them richer as the metering diaphragm gets older, and when I put all new parts in it, the settings are a complete do-over. Most don't get get the tool to adjust them if it's anything else.

No kidding! Texas is full of barns with stuff like this. It's always covered in dust and dirt, but most of the time, there is something good under the muck. I am keeping this one.

I'd keep it too. Nothing wrong with an Echo though. My 85 Stihl blower was bought in 02 and was made earlier than that and I gapped the plug and reset the carb when I got it years ago and have done nothing to it since. Just cranked it up two weeks ago from sitting for almost two years. It faded out once but runs fine now. The Echo started on the second pull. Get good stuff and take care of it and it'll last! Happy weekend, Palley!

I switch when I find one I really like. I had a cheapo for years that I loved, then switched to the Echo, now the Stihl. They all last a long time if they are cared for. This one was forgotten and covered in dirt, but it runs great now. I made it all shiny n before I put it in the shed 😁

Now that's a real Stihl 2 stroke.... Not the 4 mix crap with valves. Save the 2 strokes👍

Glad you are going to be fixing it for you because of the fact that sthii is going battery powered equipment as seen in the commercials of it on KZfaq 😂

Stihl is including battery tools but they aren't going full electric. This one is an old world 2 stroke with a perfect bore and rings... I sold my Echo that afternoon and put this one in its spot. 👍

Electric tools keep getting better... 10 years from now, they might be as strong and durable as this bad boy. I kept this one because(after a little work on the settings) it starts easy and sounds great. When batteries improve and come down in price, I will start experimenting with them.

@@GuysPlayingWithTools that sounds like a great idea to do that when the time is right to go battery powered on the lawn care equipment

Another fix. I have a km91r somebody gave me. As they went all electric. Had a valve keeper loose causing compression issue . Fixed that then it ran for a few seconds, I bet carb all gummed up. Haven’t gotten to it. But I’ll replace carb likely with one of those all in 1 kits. Off Amazon or HIPAstore
@GuysPlayingWithTools
@GuysPlayingWithTools 4 ай бұрын
That would probably work. I am not(I can't stress this enough) NOT a fan of HIPA carbs. Most of the cheap carbs on Amazon are pretty good, but I have had nothing but headaches from theirs.

@dfields9511 4 ай бұрын
@@GuysPlayingWithTools HIPA I haven’t had a problem yet. But I have used them More for 4 cycle lawnmowers. I don’t do a lot of 2. Cycle.

@dfields9511 I always rebuild 4 stroke carbs. They might be better with them than I have experienced with their 2 stroke carbs. I have a couple of favorite "cheap" carbs. Email me if you want info on the 2 stroke carbs that I have had good luck with. (I don't want to advertise them 🙂)
