"Black Lagoon is the lead single from Still Corners 4th album Slow Air. With clean toned electric guitar, a driving beat, and the smoky crooning of Tessa Murray, Black Lagoon contains the shimmering atmospherics Still Corners are well known for. The cinematic video that accompanies the track finds the band on a journey from the desert to the ocean in search of a lost Eden. Filmed over a month in California, Arizona and Texas and shot on a small handheld cinema camera, the band travels across America in a white mustang convertible searching and reaching into the unknown."
Lyrics
Turning back into the tide
Watching the beach from the other side
We swim with the moon
To an island in the black lagoon
Dreaming as the hours fade away
Watching as the sunlight does the same
Everything we are is on the line
Let's pretend it's not us tonight
Can't get away
Running back into the tide
Sapphire eyes up the sudden night
We swim with the moon
To an island in the black lagoon

I love Still Corners, a great sound, great lyrics. Can't get enough of their music. I'm not easy to impress; I've heard a lot of great music in my 66 years. But Still Corners gives me hope; there are still talented young bands that can make wonderful music. It's kind of comforting to me, in a way.

Still Corners is the musical project of songwriter/producer Greg Hughes and vocalist Tessa Murray. Every single one of Still Corners' creations is fantastically chill & mesmerizing. "It's the Trip that keeps us alive"- So poetic and true, indeed- This life's a much more enjoyable & comfortable endeavor thanks to arrangements like this one. I just discovered reading the comments to my favorite songs! I’ve been pretty down lately because I don’t work just stay home all day by myself because it’s just my husband and I. He is so tired from work he just comes home and wants to sleep understandably. We literally have no friends because we got sober about a year ago together and decided to cut off everybody so we could obtain this. Listening to my music and reading all the different comments has lifted me up and I really really needed it!! 😌

That shits hard. People don't realize how devastating doing what's best for you and getting clean is and how regardless of how wise saying cliché lines like 'those people weren't really your friends' must make people feel no one understands that some of those people are good people like you that ended up stuck in a cycle that doesn't discriminate based on how good a person you are, how or where you were raised etc. Those people were your only support only source of acceptance and community that we as social creature require to be even semi-functional. We leave those people to get clean and it's not like there are people lined up to fill those roles and the ones that often do knowing you are stepping out of a life and into recovery are sadly often doing it out of sympathy or to feel good about themselves or some motivator that doesn't quite feel like having someone you can trust and open up in front of and let anything out. Congratulations to you and your husband, I commend you both. And tired as he is from work make sure you remind him how important it is for you to stay connected and close and share that intimacy that made you lovers in the first place even if he's tired remind him it's not something that comes back if you neglect it and take things for granted. It's worth a red bull and a cold shower once in a while to have a night to make each other feel wanted, needed, and help keep the connection you share alive and well so you don't end up just turning into roommates that sleep in the same bed and say I love you like an obligatory reaction lol I do t even know why I wrote this I guess I know what them post sobriety social life blues feel like and I saw the one like and wanted to say good job random strangers are proud of you and your man and are routing for you both lol good luck

Nobody cares about your tripping on acid, shrooms, or etc. Just appreciate the music on its ear value mr shares alot

@@derekmckeon4916 I'm not asking anyone to care either. I just shared an experience which takes this tune to a different level of admiration for me. What makes you assume there is no "ear value" to a tune while one is tripping, whatever one may be on? Unlike your other assumption, I'm not a junkie who's constantly listening to this when high on aforementioned psychedelics. Have you never smoked a joint on a lazy Sunday morning, having a coffee alongside... and just got into the flow of a tune? Maybe not, or you wouldn't be clenching that rectal sphincter, as you most likely were, when you read and processed my comment.

Does somebody want explain to me how I'm only now just hearing of them for the first time!!? I thought for sure that they would be newer but to see that they are already loved and respected and witnessed and that this song is five years old is maddening, but the timing makes its point for me personally because I've been bored of music lately and I quite enjoy being knocked off my been there seen that heard that done that know all pedestal this way Also, I wish love and light and happiness and earthly joys to all who are here. KZfaq is my absolute favorite when it comes to reading comments left on the oddly specific and random videos i love and listen to. At least, in my experience, KZfaq has remained mostly wholesome, or if you search for it, you'll find it and it outweighs the negative noise. that's how I view it anyway, and it truly makes me feel so much love for humanity when I read comments on my favorite things. I won't do it often, but when I'm having a really sad night, I do find myself on a spiral on my phone searching for comfort and I'll find myself on KZfaq and I will just read comments and it will fill me with warmth and affection and remind me that there are people out there just like me with feelings that are deep that are passionate and have remained tender hearted. And that i am not too much or too sensitive and im definitely not alone and that this world is full of beautiful compassionate souls 💞💜🥰 Thank you for being here 🌎

Still Corners is an Outstanding and unique Band. I came across their really innovative and simply beautiful music quite by accident. As I listened I thought, this Band is a treasure and I was shocked that I hadn't known of them previously. Now, I'm completely captivated by their beautiful and haunting music. Their music says So much...life, time, happiness, pain, the past, the future, the changing World. I realized that This was the music I had always hoped for. I know, I sound somewhat dramatic, but damn it, that's the Way I feel, and it's a wonderful feeling. And, by the great success of "Still Corners", and the "Dream Pop" genres in general, I am glad to see that I am certainly not alone in my amazement of this awesome Band. Thank You for touching my Life, Still Corners. Kudos to you All!
