Luke Towan a model maker on youtube has a video on how to make one of those. He uses it to place static grass on dioramas. Looks amazing. Easy to make too. Uses tupperware and other stuff. Also has a tut for making a hotwire foam cutter too.

I’m so stoked, I already have a bundle of about three dozen pool noodles from last season out in the garage. I own a small circus themed haunt, and this will be SO perfect for our “World’s Largest Spider” scene. Any chance you could share a digital copy of your diagram? I’m just so rotten at figuring out measurements myself.

Well I gave it a go... body and legs came together in an hour..adding the hair (chunky yarn) took several hours each day for 5 days.. It just wouldn't hold. Tried several adhesive methods, finally found that exterior grade carpenters glue applied with a sponge brush worked best for us. Final outcome is more jim henson cuddly than realistically scary but works well for our child friendly haunt. Instead of the hanger wire I heat bent 1/2" pvc pipe which fits perfectly in the noodle to attach and add support to the legs

I would make one for sure. A car port would be a great spot to place the spider(s). However, placing it in someone's car, or even on their bed would work too! (Too bad that I don't live next to some fun neighbors that I could prank!) The Let Dry For 20 Minutes message is backwards. Don't know if it's intentional, but I thought I would point it out.

This is great. My inner spider nerd wants to say that the fangs and pedipalps are too small for a hunting spider (the length of both are how a wolf spider holds onto it's prey long enough to kill it), but that's just a nitpick, really. It's so life-like, it almost demands to be an animatronic!

You can recover most of the excess flocking from your project, your clothes and your tabletop if you combine a stocking and the nozzle of a Shop-Vac. Slide the stocking over the top of the nozzle, and push the very bottom of the stocking (think toes/balls of the feet,) inside the nozzle to form a pocket. You can easily collect 80-90% of the flock that does not stick to the piece. Great video!

Fantastic creation! This will be included in my next year's fall projects list. Your wolf spider is worthy of being in a Stephen King movie! Are you a commercial artist or just a self-taught creative genius? Your builds are so exciting and so on point! Thank you for sharing!!!

Those little "spare legs"... pedipalps. Used as hands, and in the mature male, for mating. Spiders run on hydraulics, and there is an actual valve at the joint of leg to body, that seals off if they lose a leg.
