Superb guitar improvisation. Great live version. Thank you 🙂 Cameraman seems obsessed with Sting's mouth (?). No matter.

Yes. 2000. Still with the energy and optimism that fuelled much of the 90s. Eleven years after the Berlin Wall finally collapsed (I'm from Berlin and was there to see it happen) and only a wee bit more than one year away from the watershed that would be 9/11 and all the turmoil that it brought down upon the entire world. An awful lot of things have changed since, and much of it not for the better. This performance still projects the brightness, the hopefulness and optimism of its time. Oh and this was also before Sting started to sound mumbly, something I only realised over the last couple of years. Anyway, it's been 23 years since this show and we all were younger, so much younger than today...

GUY

Absolutely brilliant. I may be in a minority but I prefer Sting's solo output.

I think it's six-of-one and half-a-dozen of the other. All of his material - The Police & solo - is friggin brilliant. I guess it just depends on how I'm feeling when I listen to it?

You probably never saw The Police live, Sting is an incredible artist, songwriter, Bass Player, but solo, lacks the MANIC POWER of Police performances, who were without a doubt one of the best Live Trios of All Time.

Great tune, great band. Still, feels a bit rushed, doesn't seem to settle in that groove that other live versions do. Maybe I've just had too much coffee, dunno.
