I was deployed to Kosovo when this song came out and after those long hot days of being out on patrol, back at camp when the heat broke and we were winding down hanging out at some of the common areas, there was a small tent coffee shop that had speakers outside in its seating area positioned in key places by the mushroom lights, with the cool breeze starting to blow, birds taking roost in the near by trees, this song would play and a lot of people would start drifting off to this song when it came on, myself included...this is one of those few songs that go down into the subconscious.

Sting’s ‘Fragile’ is such a beautiful song. I remember taking my son to an IMAX theater as a kid to see a movie about the ocean, and this song was the main theme song. He’s almost thirty now, and just recently we both said that we instantly go to that moment in time, when we hear the song. He has an impressive body of work. Trivia- Sting got his nickname, when he was younger, for constantly wearing a black and yellow sweater with horizontal stripes. 🐝

I've never watched the video but fell in love with this song after watching a belly dance at a local Pagan festival dance to it. Personally the video makes little to no sense, but the song is beautiful all on it's own.

As said, this is a difficult first song for Sting. He was the singer/bassist for The Police. To get a better understanding I would start with "Walking on the Moon" by the Police and then maybe "Synchronicity 1&2" from their Synchronicity CD. This CD defined my high school (along with Thriller!). The Police had a very reggae vibe. I proposed to my wife to "Fragile" from Sting's solo CD Nothing Like the Sun. Any amazingly beautiful song.

I love Sting (the blonde) solo or with The Police! I love this song because it really showcases what his voice can really do! He is British and The Police was a British band! He is not afraid to experiment in his music and I love artists that switch it up! Sting is iconic!❤❤

I spent from 2010 - 2014 traveling throughout Egypt and Nigeria and picked up on the Middle Eastern sound. It sticks with you for sure. I still listen to mostly Israeli singers and get that feel. Try listening to the song Halleluhu Psalm 150 live from Miqedem.
