I don't have a childhood Stinkor story but when I got Moss Man as a kid I was at a K-Mart with my Mom and a guy dressed in a Skeletor costume started walking towards us and I thought he was going to kill us, I was terrified but then Skeletor patted me on the head and shook my hand. It was then I became Team Skeletor and thusly I'll never forget how I got Moss Man.

Wow I loved how you did a skit of when you got Stinkor as a child.

This is exactly why I enjoyed reused sculpts and parts so much; I think it takes creativity to turn something already known into some new and enjoyable. (I would've said "fresh", but well...)

Your mom is super cool for coming on camera and that's a great tribute to include her - I'm sure she's half the reason you got to love toys so much!

I spit my drink out laughing at the opening of this video. 😂 Your mom is such a great sport! Yeah... I was slightly disappointed with his lack of scent as well, though it is a great-looking figure. The Origins line has been a dream come true for us Generation X'ers that grew up with He-Man & She-Ra, has it not? Thus Stinkor's new stink is just a mild complaint. Earlier this year,, I was fortunate to have purchased a carded vintage Stinkor (with a small crack in the blister bubble) from Mr. Joshua Van Pelt's collection and holy cow... talk about nostalgia every time I open its protector case! So I know where to go to satisfy my patchouli fix haha!! 😄 Always love your reviews, Dan! And your BOOK!! 🙌

I finally just got this guy and mine definitely has that plastic scent that you’ve mentioned. I’ve never had a vintage or classics one so I don’t know that original smell. I’m glad there’s something there, but I’m also glad it’s not super super strong.

Trhere was a kid who used to live next door to my cofounder Jeff who had, or has the original Stinkor, and that thing had a patchouly smell to it, but back then.

You can get pachouli oil for very cheap. Just a tiny drop of it will make him smell properly for weeks or even months.

Stinkor has become my personal fav since I first learned his existence, I really want to figure.

I felt exactly the same about the weird plastic smell, but I'm conflicted: as an adult, I'm glad my whole bookcase won't stink like patchouli. So it's a wash.

I think i'd prefer no smell at all if they couldn't nail the original. I like taking a hit off him every now and then, brings me back every time.

I bought a tiny bottle of patchouli and used a small paint brush and brushed Stinkor and let him set overnight, wiped him off and now he smells accurate. I also stuffed cotton and put drops in him.

Mine came in from *Entertainment Earth* the other day. I was definitely in the group that liked the Vintage Stinkor's scent so it's interesting to have a version that looks so similar with a smell I don't like. Not liking the scent isn't a dig at the figure, just a notable difference. Definitely cool with the smell not being terribly assertive; I can smell it just fine & not looking for a stronger whiff of whatever is in that plastic😆. Was just saying yesterday that in a weird way that it's kind of a more effective version of the feature to someone with my scent preferences. Glad it doesn't funk up the room, but since I have Patchouli oil & soap on hand he'll be getting a Vintage Smell Spa Day soon enough.

My friend left Moss Man and Stinkor in his closet for like six months. The combined stench in there was enough to kill a man.

Turn a clean, zip lock bag inside out, spray with pure patchouli oil and wipe completely dry with paper towel. Return bag to smell side in, and put any stinkor into the bag and in two weeks, guess what? Smells better than ever! Leaving it out side of the bag for a month, will make the smell fade, so if you want it to smell like it did, you will repeat the process. (Note) vacuum, sucking the air out of the bag around the figure gets the best results.

I found out what makes Origins Stinkor vaguely smell. If you notice on regular Origins figures, there's a little square cut out of the bottom of the card to air out the plasticy smell. They didn't do that with Stinkor. I plan to douse mine with some cheap pachouli essential oil I got at Wal Mart when Entertainment Earth sends me mine.

I missed out on stinkor and webstor at our local toystore/site here they where available for an 1hr and havn't been restocked since. I too am in the same boat as wishing they gave him the blaster .maybe we might get and accessory pack down the line with it and maybe that alt head too :)

Great skit at the beginning. LOL I liked the picture with Skeletor holding his nose (I suppose that's implied with the pose you had him in.) I'm disappointed about the lack of original smell and lack of gun. It's too bad this character was not in the original cartoon. I liked the 200X cartoon.

My old Stinkor was in a box with all the other figures. Now every figure smells like Stinkor. And Stinkor himself still smells like back in the days. Half a year ago I took my figures out for display, so half of the room smelled like patchouli. I loved it! But I put them back into the box, to preserve the smell.

I bought stinkor and Webstor today. I opened stinkor and no smell other than a slight smelly plastic funk. When I opened Webstor they smelled the same. I just think it’s messed up because they claim he has smell.

My Origins Stinkor oddly enough smells like Italian seasoning.

Yeah still waiting on mine. I ordered the Goddess, LOP Beast Man, and Stinkor at the same time, and bbts sent the Goddess three weeks ago. Beast Man got shipped out today, and no clue on my Stinkor.

I wish they'd given him a unique head rather than the black Merman head. It's always looked odd to me. The 200X/Classics head was so much better. I'm less interested when Origins figures are just the 80s one's with a bit more articulation. That's not enough for me to bother buying it when I already have the vintage version.

Mine only has a very faint cologne smell. I kinda wish it smelled stronger or worse.

I wonder if adding a drop or two of Patchouli oil to him would replicate the smell of the original a bit better...

Maybe they can't smell Stinkor because they lost their sense of smell. That seems to be a common thing in the last year and a half.

I 100% agree about the smell. Disappointing! I bought some patchouli oil and rubbed it on his chest to make him smell more like OG Stinkor XD

Yeah. I've owned the original Stinkor since I was a kid. I've sniffed that horrible smell a 1000 times. I'm glad the new figure cleaned up it's act.

I find his lack of stink disturbing.

I had the original stinkor figure as a kid and my God that being smelled horrible. He looked like a skunk but smelled like a headache inducing laboratory concoction of imitation skunk. The original moss man wasn't so bad he had a slightly musky smell to him kind of like real moss.

All Mattel could have did was buy patchouli oil. Heck I bought some recently at rite aid.

It's interesting some people are saying their Stinkor doesn't smell. Mine smells like rotten cabbage and makes my fingers smell when I touch it.

It sucks that he doesn’t come with a fart gun. Maybe when Mattel makes an Origins weapons pack.

Hope those who don’t think their stinkor smells at all should get tested for COVID 😬
