It never ceases to blow me away, when I consider that you burn every single scale and then paint every single scale, individually. The zen concentration, steady hand and knowledge of wildlife it takes to do that so masterfully, for each different species of snake, fish, (etc) is truly stunning.

I have to say, Mr Stinnet, and please don't take it the wrong way, as a slightly younger fella startingout in carving, you are my goal when I'm older. A peaceful life, somewhere by or in the woods, and carving, right down to having my own dog to follow me around. Very much love and respect for you good sir!!!

Hey! I’m 17, recently fell ill and started walking with a stick. I’ve been watching your videos because I’m not sure why, but seeing walking sticks being made into something as incredible and artistic as this just fills me with joy. I adore the personality each stick has and would one day love to have one of my own - I’ll keep a lookout on your shop for any new sticks you make! You make something that is so hard for many into something hopeful. I hated having to walk with a stick at first, but seeing artworks like this just fills me with enthusiasm 😊 you’re incredible!!

Watching your videos is my quiet time. I get a drink, sit in my favourite chair, get a cat or two on my lap and tell my husband not to disturb me. I press the play button and watch the magic take place. It's always amazing to see such beauty and realism come to life from a ratty, old, dead piece of wood. The banjo music plays in the background, as time looses itself as I watch you carve, etch, saw, pyrograph and paint life into the once lifeless stick, which now turns into a creature you would honestly believe was about to strike any second if you made the wrong move. This is yet another piece of art that belongs in a museum, along with the Van Goghs, Renoirs, Turners and Rodin's. The video finishes and time begins again, realty awakens and the magic I just witnessed is over. There's no smoking mirrors, no waving wands, and no rabbits in hats, but I know I've just seen something truly magical, truly astounding, and totally amazing be created from nothing. Thank you for making this video, and making our world a little more magical.

Two things,,, 1- When you sat in the rocker next to the wood stove, I felt a little warmer myself. It brought back childhood memories of a time when everyone had a freestanding wood stove or oil furnace taking up floor space. 2- When you were test driving the cane and walking towards the camera, there were milliseconds where it indeed looked like a real snakes body limply swinging in cadence. Good Stuff!! Thanks for the video!!

Nice one mate. I can't wait to watch this. I have wild rose stems I've saved for 11 years, around 2" diameter, 3 to 5ft long. I'm now saving the carving for the blackouts I expect soon. Learned a lot from your work. It'll be something to do with no power. Your videos are doing more good than you know mate. Thanks.

@@StinnettSticks They grew near the sea on the dunes near Southport, North West England. It was cleared as part of a nature project... and I saved the stems. They were the tallest roses I've ever seen. Much taller than the usable parts I kept. Such a shame. So I want them to be used for something decent and they will be. I have 2 of them stripped of bark and oiled. 1 as a walking stick and the other a bow staff. They look great. I just used olive oil on them. I have around 20 more.
