The Beamer I built after I had seen a picture on the internet and liked the model.
for materials I have used many aluminum that makes good polishing.
The flywheel has a copper edge what looks good and to gain more weight and I've kept the size small.
I did not know what the right size was but I liked it.
The Beamer is not fast but that's good because now you can see how well it works

Most amazing thing I've ever seen, Mr. Van Den Berg. You have made poetry manifest. What a beautiful job. This looks like a labour of love. I could watch this thing running for hours. Have seen many Stirling engines on youtube. Yours is perfectly balanced. Runs quietly and without any noticeable vibrations. Very, very well done. You may have an engineers' hands but you have an artist's soul. Beautiful job. Very well done, sir!

Totally magnificent, love the cooling fan to improve performance. I assume the governor is just for aesthetic effect. Nice to see the slow running of this engine. Most just whizz around and one cannot appreciate the moving parts.

@241975dm

Hai, you call that a regulator, which is used by steam engines to keep the speed of the machine in check. greetings Ed

Ed van den Berg, great design. The self cooling was an awesome idea, as well as the ability to slide the fuel chamber onto the platform rather than having to painstakingly burn yourself trying. Lol, it's the little things that get me. Thank you!

Another term is flyball governor, which gave rise to the phrase "balls out" when the governor arms reached horizontal, meaning the engine was running at maximum design speed. This was dangerous because the regulator/governor could no longer control the engine speed. A decrease in load or an increase in steam pressure could cause the engine to disintegrate. Considering that parts of such an engine in an average factory could weigh several hundred pounds (flywheels, thousands of pounds), this could and did kill workers in the area of the engine.
