Having just done a track day in the Civic at Bedford Autodrome 3 days before, I thought I'd take the Mazda MX5 (Miata) on a last minute track day after my mate dropped out. It was soaking wet, but that didn't matter, the standard MX5 with stock brakes and floaty suspension was hilarious and great fun!
Everyone who worries they can't do a track day because they haven't got the right car, will never do one! Just get out there in whatever you've got! It's such fun!

Supreme confidence and ability in the wet- exact opposite of me! Liked how you took the wet line sometimes and showed how much more grip was to be found there

Thanks mate! Helps going out in a cheaper car, but I love feeling it out and finding the grip. Just be super smooth and build up. Then do some skids! 🍌😂

Why are track days at Goodwood so expensive and you only get short amount of track time because of them running in groups. Cadwelll is the best value at £95 for full day open pitlane. I wish we had more options for cheap track days in the South. BTW I think I have almost the exact same MX-5 version as you... mine is a 2005 NBFL Artic 1.8 in razor blue

To be fair the last few days I've done at Goodwood I've had quite a lot of track time, it's usually low numbers depending on who you book it with, and everyone goes home at 3 and then I've done back to back sessions til 5! Goodwood is also a top tier track IMO, a nice place to be and top quality hospitality, hosting, and food. Cadwell is fun but small and narrow and not as 'posh'. It's like comparing Blyton to Silverstone. Both fun but very different. Yeah my MX5 is an NBFL 2004. But lots of it is 2023! 🤦‍♂️😜
