Three Star Vagabond

Күн бұрын

I've already covered the top 10 free things to do in Stockholm, and the top 10 things to do under $30. This time I decided to cover how you could visit stockholm for only $87 per day - including accommodation.
For more videos every week, subscribe to the channel: kzfaq.info...
Also, join the Three Star Vagabond Facebook group to discuss upcoming videos: / threestarvagabond
In this video I cover everything you need for a visit to the capital of Sweden: where to stay, where to eat, places to drink, and things to do. And I show you how you could make it happen for less than $100 per day.
When it comes to accommodation I describe some different options, ranging from more than 4000 SEK per night at Grand Hotel, to the cheapest suitable hotel in Kista, to hostels in the city center - and on boats as well.
Stockholm has excellent public transport, so I also describe the different tickets you can buy if you're visiting for a week or a weekend. But I also mention some alternatives, such as walking or day passes for electric scooters.
There's of course a lot to do in the city as well, from Gamla stan, the Old Town, to the lovely islands of Djurgården and Långholmen. Aside from all the free activities, I also list options such as visiting the open-air musem Skansen, or kayaking in the city center, or taking a trip to the archipelago by boat. I'm counting on you wanting several activities per day in this budget.
Top 10 free things to do in Stockholm: • Top 10 FREE Things in ...
Top 10 thing under €30 in Stockholm: • Top 10 Things in Stock...
We mustn't forget food as well. This budget won't include any luxury restaurants, but I'm still listing many different options for breakfast, lunch and dinner - including both some Swedish classics as well as more international cuisine. All at a very affordable price.
And last but not least, you want to find some cheap beer as well. It IS possible to find decently-priced drinks in Stockholm if you know where to look... Alcohol is ridiculously expensive in general in Sweden, but after watching this video you might be able to afford a few pints anyway.

I was in Stockholm and Gothenburg two weeks ago and found overall prices to be much more reasonable than I was expecting. Stopped on the Barken Viking in Gothenburg which was novel. By comparison I found Helsinki much more expensive for food and drink.

Well, it was a bit of work getting the budget that cheap, but I think it actually would be a reasonable trip. Depending on expectations, that is :D It's really good that you can stay with friends - the hotel cost is what really tends to raise the budget of any trip. One hotel night is like 25 beers of the cheap Gränges, so I think there's plenty of beer money left in that case. Cheers and have a great one you too!

Hi, 3-S Vagabond. It's been a long time. It's good to see you again. It was a great video as always you made. If people wanted to travel in the city for a while with a few hundred bucks in their pockets, they've learned. You are a true guru of delicious and affordable meals. As a Turkish person, I have never heard of Turkish burgers. But I am glad to see them look very delicious and bargain. I must try. Also, you preferred them over burger franchises. :) At the end of the video, you suddenly find yourself in the nightclub? Oh, I forgot about you were Beer Pharaoh Vagabond. It could be a new skill. After a few shots of 50 SEK beer, you can instantly teleport to nightclubs. A kind of brewmaster skill it must be. :D I missed your videos but I was far away for a while, I'm sorry about that. I had to cool down my own processors(brain cells) during hot summer days. I hope I won't miss your next adventures. Have a great week.

Heeey, so nice to hear from you again :D And I really have no idea why they call it Turkish burgers - I think they just made stuff up that sounds exotic to Swedes :D Haha, that's what happens after a couple of cheap beers after all. I had some footage from a couple of events I'd been to lately, so I thought they fit pretty nicely - that was a geek concert and a Barbie rave. I love all these tips. I know it's fun to splurge on things, but when we travel, I'm not even sure if we qualify as Two Star Vagabonds. Even when traveling for work, I've been known to find a food co-op and eat on the cheap, even thought he company was paying. In a way, though...it's not even so much about being frugal, but when going to a grocery store/food market salad bar or picking up other things, you tend to bump into people who are more likely to tell you neat places to go than you might find in more upscale places.

That's the social way of being a cheap traveler! Personally, I often do similar things but that's because I want to curl up in my room and not meet any more people.
