Have you ever taken the subway trains in Stockholm? If so, you may have wondered what the different names mean. Some of them sound a bit funny in Swedish, so that's what we'll talk about in this video! Here are some of my favorite metro station names in Stockholm, Sweden.

Svedmyra refererar egentligen till att man förr i tiden svedde myrar, alltså brände fält. Det har inget med myror att göra. Man brände alltså en myr eller ett fält för att kunna odla där. :P

Hej, Daniella I have a few video ideas and it would be great if you could do those: Places in pendeltåg and sparväg city What om means because ot has a lot of meanings When to use till and att because they both mean-the same thing What ska means because it also has a lot of meanings

Is there any video about prepositioner, if not can you make a series please. For example, when OM, PÅ, VID, ATT, MED etc. change meaning of verb in front. It's so confusing and hard. Tack tack 🤗
@FunSwedish
@FunSwedish 2 жыл бұрын
Hej! That requires a series for sure. Becuase it takes some time to get it right 😅. Which we havent been able to fit yet in some KZfaq videos. We did one here on "i" and "för + seadan". kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sL6Yjaek2rm7pKM.html We of course go through all of those in our live Zoom courses and video courses 😊. This course is starting next week and we are fucussing a lot on the partikelverb. Which is when we combine a verb with different prepositions and they change meaning! funswedish.com/swedish/swedish-intermediate/

If you are in Stockholm during summer you can travel with at least five real steamships with different types of trips. Music, lunchcruise and regular traffic. They are about one houndred years old and you can visit both the bridge and engineroom and see how it works.

@tommiejonsson8952
@tommiejonsson8952 2 жыл бұрын
And "Näckros" is an actual flower that is called "Water lily" in english. You also misunderstood "Svedmyra". "Sved" is past tense of svida and should be translated to "stung", BUT "Sved" also have a different meaning. It means "lumbered timber" and "myra" can be a poetic way of saying "myren" which would mean that the english word for "Svedmyra" would be "timber-mire".

Ganska kul och trevligt, men... Gubbängen is the name of a farm, situated more or less where the metrostation is. Hökarängen is named after Hökarängens Gård, situated a few km to the East. Farsta is also a name of a manor-house in, you guess? Farsta. Blåsut, by the way was an inn. I had better stop there, but it would be nice if you try to find yhe truth instead of just speculating.
