I have had this gun for a couple of years now. I started out using a standing position with alloy 8gr pellets. It was hopeless. Now i use the bipod with a two handed pistol grip technique. Shooting down seems to work best to control the recoil, i now also use 18 gr pellets

Stephen Manchester I was using my stoeger the other day and it is almost spot on now. I have made a vid on trying to get as much accuracy out of it as I can. Not a bad gun for the money 😁 not a competition winner tho 😉

Try the accupell and daystate soverign pellets. Also the recommended pellets Stoeger offer are very good with this rifle

yojo mojo I don't know if you have seen but I have a video of me working to make this rifle as good as I possibly can. I love this gun and was not happy with the mixed review I gave it so looked to bring it back to how I remember it. 😉

Hmmm you could also double the stoeger up and use it as an ore in a rowing boat lol, compatto is defo worth the extra money..

I purchased my 5.5mm (.22cal) 2 weeks ago, and had to fit the scope onto the rail myself. After a few attempts at setting the scope to zero, I consistently hit bullseye (dia 1/2 inch) with the diablo 1.037 gr lead pellet at app. 25 metres. How will the alloy pellets do at distance 50 to 60 metres?

Leonard Samuels are you in the UK or USA?
@leonardsamuels91176 жыл бұрын
No, I am from Cape Town, South Africa
@airgunsandstuffyorkshire2696 жыл бұрын
Leonard Samuels oh ok. I don't think I can answer that due to the power limit in the UK. Both my air rifles are limited under 12 ftlbs. Good luck with the testing. 😁😁😁

These seem to hate any pellet under 15 grain. What are you trying out in yours?
@airgunsandstuffyorkshire2696 жыл бұрын
KJP Video Content all sorts. Had most pellets thru it.

Any favourites? Going to give a tester pack of larger JSP Diablos (various 13.43 - 25.39 grain) a bash. Hoping it likes something around the 18+ weight.

KJP Video Content I found H&N FTT where most consistent and anything AA or JSB. I use my stoeger close range mainly so i use wasps. Is your rifle sub 12?
@REMEFish6 жыл бұрын
H&N FTT is 14.66 grain, comes out of barrel tumbling in mine, your lucky lol. LGS stated quite strongly it's 11.5, but doesn't feel it. Personally I'd say its closer to 16, but still bedding it in. fingers crossed a heavier pellet will calm it down more :D

Tried AA 14.66 Diablo Field and an entire test pack of assorted wight JSB, everything came out spinning and wildly inaccurate. Looked to the FAC guys to see what they run with and picked up a box of 400 18 grain Prometheus Defiant. The quality of pellets is spot on, not a single damaged pellet even through the post. It's cured the tumbling, every hole is nice and round, but even with the bipod, I just can't get the grouping sub 100mm @ 30m.

Looking at the target mate it looks like the same old problem with the stoeger is that the pellets are tumbling down range and not cutting clean through the paper. I’ve watched various vids and on the first addition atac and the pellets were tumbling which obviously affects the accuracy, Good video though bud.

Will this kill a rabbit
@airgunsandstuffyorkshire2696 жыл бұрын
Ash Raine it is just under 12 ftlbs in the uk. You only need 4 ftlbs to kill a rabbit. So. Yes if u can hit it in the head.
@D3F3ND3R866 жыл бұрын
Airguns And Stuff Yorkshire thanks for that.

I did actually fix this gun and it still shoots well
@davidprocter35782 жыл бұрын
this nut can shoot pretty well, out of the thousands of airguns that have passed through my hands the A tac by far the worst, you can get better results with a b2 and that is something I never dream't I would say.I rather think your groups back up my own findings. I have knackered old airguns that were built when Victoria was on the throne that still put in better groups than the Atac.
