Stok Cold Brew Coffee, Three Ways

2 жыл бұрынWho is up for a drink? How about three drinks? I'm going to dig into one of my favorite widely available commercial cold brew coffees. SToK. From the classic Bold and Smooth (green), to the Extra Bold (purple) finally to the newest one I've found the Bright and Mellow (yellow). I have in the past simple put a straw in the bottle and enjoyed it at work, sometimes I've skipped the straw and just chugged it. These coffees are so accessible, and I don't mean availability, but drinkability. They aren't challenging or a struggle. Easy drinking, and smooth. There is no bitterness any where near these. I tend to like the extra bold. The newer one, the Mellow, is a bit too delicate for me with those citrus, fruity notes. But still even that one is still good. Cheers, what's in your cup?

just got the extra bold today and tried it. ive never been able to drink any coffee black until i tried this. also your review was super entertaining while i had the drink with you!

Id rather have the bold and smooth flavor and mix it with my favorite creamer.

That's the perfect way to do it. That's why I try my best to get as plain black as possible, so I can tell what the bean water brings to the glass before I add anything. Cheers.

When i see the coffee in that glass i cant stop to think its a stout beer because stouts are black and coffee but no its just coffee

I don't add anything to my coffee. I don't have a sweet tooth, so I'm lucky there. The only time I feel the need to add anything is when the coffee isn't as good as I hoped. But you're add-in sounds tasty. Cheers.

Which one would u say would make a better ice coffee with creamer?

I don't do creamer but I would say go with the extra bold, so that the flavor still holds up against the creamer and ice, which would dilute the other two too much. Cheers.

Can you heat it up, to make a hot cup of coffee? Or, was it just meant to be consumed cold?

You heat it up for sure. Hot cold brew is my favorite since it gives me the best of both worlds.

Honestly I don't know. I'm usually up at 2am for work and coffee is such a driving force for me that I drink so much of it that I'm not sure what a proper serving "does" to me. I'm trying to take this month to reset my system a bit because in general coffee doesn't do as much for me as it used to. For example I'm my 4th cup of hot coffee here at work and I'm yawning. With these cold brews though I really enjoy the flavors and the body of it. It is an enjoyable drink and while the "kick" is important the rest of the experience is too.

@@upforadrink yeah thanks for answering, but I tried cold brew and WILL NEVER do it again. The amount of poop I had to withstand is unspeakable

@@ChatiseE Well I think you were trying the wrong kind of cold brew. I've never had that kind of reaction to cold brew, the same can't be said for traditional hot brew coffee. It really does come down to what kind you get. I think that those cold brews that don't use the proper filter an allow more of the grinds to get through to the glass might be the culprit for you. Cold Brew tends to be more powerful, so you might want to try it cut with some water to dilute it.

The regular green label (least caffeinated) has a tight jazzy lift. Aptly titled product.....got it free from a food bank.
