STOKED! 1st sesh on v3 Swing wing

10 ай бұрынI had to post this video, mostly because I wanted to edit the sesh so bad. I wanted to re-live the excitement and I couldn't wait. It wasn't amazing conditions, but we were STOKED and ripped pretty hard for 2 hours straight. I think it's been over a month of wishing for waves, visualizing shredding waves, and watching wave videos that just got me primed to have a great day. still thinking about it, looking forward to the next one. thank you FONE for sending me this Swing to demo... I'm gonna try it a few more sessions and do a comparison with the Strike. stoked!

Dude, I have no idea how you can even manage at all without some type of harness line to give your arms a break. I pretty much hook in briefly on every pass to take some load off. I’m using the Manera belt with the ride engine Nug for the hook. Very light weight and simple plus I hook my board leash on the back and use it for my wing tether. Manera nailed it with this belt.

sup bud! that's great to know about the Manera belt! It seemed the best one for a while was Ride Engine, but they screwed me so bad once that I'll never ever buy anything from Ride Engine ever again. I'll totally check out the Manera one. this winter may be the one that I go for a harness. BUT I really love using just my arms. I haven't been in a gym in years and in the best shape of my life, all due to winging! so as long as I can hack it, I'm gonna see how far this ride goes!! thanks bud and I wish you an awesome weekend!

the SK8 will be demoed!! LOL. having 2 different wings/projects right now from FOne is already giving me a little anxiety! I need to finish the 8m vid, and once that's done and the wing is out of my hands, I'll ask for a SK8. It will be compared to Armstrong foils. It will be glorious. I'm stoked! More soon!

@OCEANBOUND1 I was back a few days ago, but we have all been sick. Nothing serious, but we felt awful some type of virus, but we are all good now, so back at it and hopeful on some wind tomorrow . Then we have a few more trips away to see my parents love some Family time . Few of the crew getting new Armi M.A s so ill be having a good go on them and have a fone Eagle tomorrow to try . Hi Jeremy. And it’s pretty rare that people are wearing sunglasses and water sports. I find that pretty important. What are you using? And are you using straps so not to lose them? Thanks a lot and keep ripping!

sup bud! I should wear them more! but it does annoy me when the water droplets effect my vision. that said, I've been riding with an old pair of Sunclouds recently that have some delaminating issues on the inside so I figured why not?!? just use cheap straps I bought on amazon. they stay on for the most part but I've lost a handful of pairs throughout the years! using I've never been into the look of sea specs. thanks bud I wish you an awesome weekend!!

Hi Jeremy, Love the addition of the map of the day. Which app are you using? I just started using Strava but don’t see speed on my track. Would love it if there was an app that integrated real time wind measurements. That’d be glorious!! Thx, -Stuart

I'm using Waterspeed, which kind of integrates wind, maybe not as much as you want. but I'm about to try Hoolan, my friend says he prefers it better, and it's totally free, whereas I paid for a yearly on Waterspeed. I'll let you know what Hoolan is like! super curious, but not stoked to jump to another app now that I've collected 78 sessions on Waterspeed but if it's better, well, I like better! thanks bud, I hope all is well and I wish you an awesome weekend!

@@OCEANBOUND1 Thx for the tip - just tried waterspeed and recorded one of my first ever tacks! Looks like there's some way to export tracks if you do switch to Hoolan. But, seriously, how do you manage video!? ✌

The forearm burn on the Swing (tried one recently) I think is two things - one the handles are bigger diameter overall than the traditional F-One soft handles so if you aren't used to that then that's a factor. The other thing is the Swing pulls pretty hard and all the time - so I found it quite a physical wing to use for an extended session. That said - it flew way better once I hooked it into my harness and that took all the load off my hands / forearms and made it a much more pleasant experience overall.

Sup bud! Super interesting. I didn’t walk away from that session thinking it pulled like crazy, but I have been riding big Strikes lately in all conditions so maybe I’m just used to that. I’m gonna ride it again today and I’m gonna focus on its pull. So thanks bud, I’ll let you know what I figure out!

@@OCEANBOUND1sup! - yeah, back to back it with the strike v3 and you will notice it. It reminds me of beginner wings that have that constant pull as they are bigger bellied, it's not a bad thing - my theory is that with the Strike being more of an intermediate / advanced wing the Swing is filling the beginner niche for F-One whilst also doubling up as a good wave wing.

Oh I use a leash every time, the reasoning split between convenience and safety. I prefer it, but I guess I would consider no leash if our conditions required it more. I can confirm that at least one wing of mine has been killed directly due to a leash. and it as prolly involved in other wing-cidents. honestly I never really questioned it... but now I am! so thanks for the thought, and I wish you an awesome day!

thanks bud! I have been wearing solites for the past two years, but I'm not really into their 2mm cause they give me blisters if I wear them for more than one sesh in a row. so most of this summer I've been rocking out on the Oneill Superfreaks or their Reactors.
