Great way to showcase the instrument using different settings and venues

It would be instructive to hear the horn side by side with your usual Yamaha. And you sound great, by the way. Nicely done.

What mouthpiece do you use and is it different feeling for each horn? I heard that some mouthpieces don’t match well with some horns.

I play Toshi mouthpieces right now. It’s definitely possible that a mouthpiece might not match well, but I think you can make most things “work”

I'm a trombonist but I'm just starting in the trumpet world. I wanted to buy a horn that would last me for many years for classical and jazz etc. I was hesitating between a new Stomvi Forte, some used Stradivarius (43 L for example) and some used Yamaha (6345G for example). What do you recommend? Thanks for your videos!

Get a used 37 strad or a xeno, that’s all you will ever need. Us trumpeters tend to be gearheads but most of us will never reach the limits of those two horns. That being said, I had a Stomvi elite in college and it was an amazing instrument.

What are the differences between your Yamaha trumpet and stomvi forte?

My Yamaha feels more focused and sounds a little more colorful. Sorry, I’m just seeing this comment!

If S3 don't have brighteness as Yam NY have, Forte have it. Sound wise is very very close to Yam NY. Closer than S3.

I can't say anything negative about it. It doesn't sound like it's a struggle to play it. I does sound open all the way, so high too. It has a nice ring, rich in high even harmonics. Perhaps it's not an instrument which can open up to a brassy ffff forte like a very light and wide bore instrument can do. But it' has enough dynamics and the compactness seems not the result of much weight. It's probably very symphonic and not what one would buy for street or big band work.
