This is a demonstration of committing a manual entry onto a Stoneridge Digital Tachograph.

Stoneridge Tachograph Manual Entry.as a heavy goods vehicle driver you are now required to complete a manual entry every time that you insert your digital tachograph card

You now have to include the time that you are away from your vehicle

You have to include the additional time that you have spent collecting your keys and paperwork from
the office prior to entering your card

In this demonstration driver smith has had two weeks off on leave

You will be asked if you want to add manual entries

To change this back to the day that we removed our card so that we can add on the extra 15 minutes of work

If you go past the time simply use the down arrow to toggle backwards and press the ok button to confirm the entry

We have now completed our manual entry for the end of shift

You will now be shown the country that you finished your shift in

Upon reaching end country united kingdom press the ok button to confirm the selection

In order to show that we have done additional work prior to inserting our card

In this case it will mean turning back the clock by 15 minutes
the pictogram will now be asking if this

If this is your start of shift time, acknowledge this by pressing the ok button

Never done a manual entry, been driving 25 years, tried doing them for the last month, absolutely wrecked my readouts.....i will take the fine

Best thing to do is write down the time you clock in and out each day (or arrive at work if you don't have a clock machine) . Then enter that info into the Tachograph.

Brilliant and very thorough ... 😁😁 ... My only (tiny) issue is that the gaps between explanations seem a little long? and the tachgraph keeps defaulting to 'no button pressed' maybe doing it in real-time might help ... Not in ANY way a criticism as this video has ensured I do everything right (apart from the time I clicked 'OK' to bring the display back and accidentally approved changes ... OOPS 😒😒

Good video, thanks. Say for example the day before I'd driven a vehicle with an analogue Tachograph. How would I input this information? Would I put the start time then use the unknown ? symbol? As there is no way of inputting to the tachograph driving. And of course I'd have the paper disc in my records to show actual driving.

Hi, Sorry, I have only just opened this and seen your comment. I have my own idea of what you would enter, which would be 'other work' along with your rest periods. I would also write on the paper chart that there is a cross reference to your digi tacho. To ensure that I give you the correct interpretation, I have sent the video and your question to DVSA for their take on this and see what they have to say.

Hi, I have received a reply back from Susan Traynor, DVSA, as follows:- Hi David No manual entry on the driver card is needed for driving/activities that were recorded via an analogue tachograph as the analogue record sheet is the record. Manual entries are only needed when it has not been possible to make a record, in real time, using a tachograph. Regards Susan

Hi. Thanks for your reply. So I guess when you put your card in you tell it you have been resting if you've been on analogue work previously?

It’s not that difficult. It looks more complicated than it really is. When you get to the end of your manual entry, don’t accept it, press no and it will take you back to the start so that you can check that you have input the entry correctly.
