One of our neighbors, just down the road, raised the bed of his dump truck, then proceeded to lay across the bed rails to grease a fitting. As he lay there, a hydraulic hose burst and he is forever dead. He left behind a young wife and a very young son. If a hose breaks, whatever it is that's up in the air, is instantly on the ground, faster than you can blink. I'm a farmer, and yes, I've done it too, but it's not a good idea. You are betting your life on a hose. Lee

Josh I cringed when u were working under that bucket. One of the reasons I love your channel is your safety habits. Please be careful n find a safety precaution to put in place❤

Grease gun to shoot grease in ball joints and tie rod ends and does not have a grease fitting that you can shoot in around the edge of the rubber

Josh, great Tool Tuesday share, always appreciated. PLEASE, ALWAYS use a mechanical jam when working under a hydraulically lifted machine. If a hose were to fail while you are under there working you are a dead man walking. Maybe you were using a mechanical jam and if so, please share with your audience from a safety perspective. Thank you for an excellent channel, I enjoy it very much!!

FYI......... In the future use a heat gun (I have a 20V Dewalt Battery one) and use it to heat the joint until it gets hot, (no flame worries) then try greasing it or use the impact greaser with half and half penetrating oil and grease mixed together.... Works every time! 😁 Also....hard plastic mallet works better...or a steel hammer..... I use a small 2lb sledge hammer...

Hey if you will fill it full of greese until it builds pressure then make your bucket go up and down it will grind that hard piece of grease down and let the fresh grease start the flow

For a safety jack for your bucket find a old car jack and a piece of pipe to fit over and down on jack cut to length. Jack until tight.

Fluid Film is great rust preventative but its hard to beat Kroil for stuck nuts and bolts. Love the Lock N Lube.

That needle is very handy. I use it on my shop roll up door, to get in tight places that has a contact surface, but no grease fitting. I also use it to grease bearings, by just sticking it in between the roller bearings, and give a few pumps till it comes out the other side, repeat all the way around, and you have a perfectly greased bearing.

Lock and Lube is a superior product. Story: Back in the early 1970’s I had a foreign motorcycle with strange grease fittings on the rear suspension swingarm bushings. John Deere sold a grease fitting with metric threads and American style “zerk” fitting on the business end. Dirt cheap, and no more searching for the grease needle. Show and shine judges never noticed those fittings.

What perfect timing, I was under a bale mover for a couple hours yesterday fighting 2 fittings that wont take for anything. I pulled the fittings & shot grease through them, then sprayed degreaser inside and moved it up & down trying to break up the old grease. Tried the grease gun in all different positions along its motion but it just will not budge. Imy gonna have to take a shot with that grease buster

Lock'n'lube has been the best I have used for both grease and air chucks. Highly recommend. They are expensive but in hassle and broken fittings they are worth it to me. If you use a grease gun for a farm/ ranch or commercially looki into them.
