Great video! This helps to hear with the success of weight loss, not using weight as a measure of continued success. We are considering a new scale that will help measure other factors, along with adding weight training. This all comes on the heels of my wife's 160 lbs weight loss, and me following along at 30 lbs. We appreciate your content, and my wife has kickstarted loss again with your fasting strategies.

I purchased on Amazon, a RENPHO smart scale for body weight, body fat, visceral fat, and loads of other calculations. It was under $35. My trainer had one and I wanted one at home. The RENPHO smart scale is extremely accurate.
@AutumnBates

I haven't personally tried the RENPHO, but from what I can see it's similar to the Arboleaf. It's definitely better than a regular scale, but I prefer the InBody when I can get my hands on it.

Hi i want to ask: I need some confirmations that adding protein, and eating high protein, works for weight loss. it would be a good encouragement thanks!

I would like to know about fiber in the smoothies. I’ve been listening quite a bit to Robert Lustig and really enjoy him. He mentioned blending up fiber taking away its benefits fruit as his example. Is that true of chia seeds or flax etc in our smoothies? Thank you!! I’d also like to just add that your smoothie cookbook is everything! Haha. I use it at least once a day. Such good recipes!!
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
Chia seeds/flax seeds don't have the sugar content that fruit has so it won't have nearly the same impact. Blending doesn't "destroy" fiber, but it does make the carbs/sugar more accessible. But how this impacts each person is wildly different and often depends on their glucose tolerance/state of insulin resistance or how active they are. This is why some people do great with more "chewable" meals (like chia pudding) and others do well with smoothies that are blended.

@@AutumnBates makes total sense! Okay. Great. I knew asking you would help! I did a fasted glucose test that came back less than 8, so I should be able to continue with my smoothies! Thank you!!

What are your recommendations for those who have high cholesterol and blood pressure? Can you make a video on food recommendations and why it’s okay to eat meat and other fats? Or is plant based the only way to go

Try taking citrus bergamot for cholesterol. My husband dropped his by 60 points!! He also did mostly plant based, but did eat fish and a little chicken

@@nancytorrisi2227 I love this!! Was the citrus bergamot in pill form? I'm mostly plant based since I found out but have been consuming fish 2-3x a week (salmon mostly) and eggs (1 whole egg and 1 egg white) 2-3x a week. I've dropped 15 pounds simply by just eating real foods... no drive thru chicken nuggies or starbucks breakfast sandwiches. I'm excited to get blood work done in another month and see the reduction but the information is so conflicting. Some physicians cite "zero meat, dairy, and eggs" but then others say "no you need cholesterol for cell building and hormones"... like what is it??!!

I don't have a specific video on this (yet), but there is a *lot* of research on this topic. A great book that you might want to check out in the meantime is "The Big Fat Surprise".

@@AutumnBates Thanks Autumn! Yes, so much research and varying opinions. It's overwhelming to say the least. I trust your nutritional guidance and know you rely heavily on evidence and science backed research - so I look forward to the video once it's available :) One of the big links I am seeing in my own research is the elevated A1C linkage to heart disease - high cholesterol/BP. So, it makes me wonder how much cholesterol per day I should be consuming and is my "vegan" fruit smoothie really helping me? I will check out that book - reserving at library now!

Hi thanks for the info. If someone is eating high protein per day, how do you get this all in in 3 meals. For me it would be 44 grams per meal if I'm not snacking? Thanks
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
Having a variety of sources of protein is helpful. For example, I tend to use my zero sugar protein powder mixed with greek yogurt (either in a smoothie or a bowl) to get my protein up without having to increase the volume too much.
@mamokamika4212
@mamokamika4212 Жыл бұрын
Are you sure that your protein needs calculation is accurate? I only need 20 g - 22g of protein per meal base on my calculation for my body weight and active level. Please double check your protein needs calculation again. Example: 3.0 oz of cooked chicken has 27 g of protein. 3 cooked eggs has 18 g of protein.
