I charged my iPhone 12 pro max every night for 2 years (00:00 - 06:00), 98% battery life today. A useful tip would be to tell people not to use the phone while it is charging.....

That tip will not make a difference in your battery health since it would go through the same amount of charge cycles as if you charge it up to 100%. My tips will be don’t use the phone while charging to avoid overheating or breaking the charging port and don’t leave the phone charging at 100% for too long ( I consider too long for more than a few hours) also leave optimise charging on. Do this and I believe you will maintain a really good battery health over the years.

Or u could just enable optimized battery charging so after 80% it charges slowly. and mantaines battery health

Your phone has optimized charging on by default, this is unnecessary.

I do not have time to worry about battery health anymore like I used to. I’m replacing the battery once it hits 95% to keep it fresh year round.

If you're not charging you phone to 100% and instead to 80% you're actually just using 80% capacity of the battery. Its literally useless to do this, just use your phone normaly. And when the battery wears out in a few years, you change it.

On newer versions of iOS, you can Go to Settings and Set an 80%charging limit so that it Will stop charging at 80%

So I’m meant to wake up in the middle of the night just to stop my phone from charging to it’s maximum capacity that it’s made for💀

Since 5 years I load my iPhone 8 Plus over the night and still have 76% batterycapacity. Don’t think too much about that, just use your phone in that way you need it or fits the best to you

iPhones have optimised charging, which learns when you’re usually charging it, so it can then slowly charge overnight and schedule when to finish. It also does never usually let 100% in, even though it says it is.

Just use Apple’s smart charging setting, avoid going under 20% and AVOID HEAT; the battery is a wear item and will need replacing one day. Take extra care of your phone in general; but don’t babysit the battery too much, it’s meant to be used :) JUST AVOID HEAT FFS

The battery thing is plain wrong at this point, we have advanced batteries that can be charged however we want and whenever we want, even Apple says that.

Well you can make your device both turn off wifi , bluetooth and turn on airplane mode when you charge your ipad and you can make your device turn on wifi , bluetooth and turn off airplane mode when you uncharge your ipad Also you can make some notifications to charges your ipad instead of sound Shortcut is very cool!

Cool but I paid for Apple Care+ for the very reason that I didn’t have to do anything like this. I just take it in and swap for another.

I just got my iPhone 15 pro max and I Charge from %15 to %80 set limit. Just so I can get around 4 years of use before making another big upgrade.

The ironic part is that those automations will drain the battery faster since the charge level is constantly being monitored. This will be more noticeable on older phones or newer ones that don't have a great battery life to start with like the SE.

In Android bixby routines you can literally stop charging with the percentage needs and turn on battery saver when drops.

Phone’s battery health and life are based on the charge cycles if we are charging it to 90% then not to lower it below 20 % still it will count it as 70 units in a one charge cycle in the next charging period as your phone reaches 50% means from 20 it will count the remaining 30 units and one charge cycle will complete . More and more charge cycles will lower the battery health as they are inversely related. So there is no way to protect your battery life and health .

Any manufacturer worth their salt will program this into their device by default. Meaning... Its already done for you, you can never charge a phone to true 100%.

Charging your phone to 100% can be bad for your battery 🪫, Lithium-ion batteries can be stressed at the extremes, and charging past 100% is one of the worst things you can do for your battery's health.

Its like having a 70% battery health if you limit charging your phone to 20 to 90%. Just use it like it supposed to.

I've been doing this for a year now with my Iphone 13 Pro Max 30%~90%. On addition, instead of asking my phone to speak I ask it to turn off the mart plug I use to charge my phone. This way, the charge starts and stops automatically.

Apple says that you can charge or discharge your iPhone whenever you want, so either way you can’t save battery life forever

I have a close friend of mine who has an iPhone 14 Pro Max still with a 100% battery health after 8 months. She told me that she never uses her phone while charging and leaves the phone charged overnight. She also removes her phone case so that the heat would not be trapped. Her iPhone was purchased on february 2023 and I was totally impressed by her battery life. Pro Tip: NEVER USE YOUR PHONE WHILE CHARGING AND REMOVE THE PHONE CASE AS WELL.

imo 20% to charge until cutoff at 100% is good These 20-80% charging maybe be valid only for 5w or 10w power supply, but mobiles these days utilize fast charging upto 80% and then trickle charges from 80 to 100% (it uses different technology) so let it charge as it's meant to be, If you do 20-80 method then it will fast charge & also drain faster

Most of a lithium ion battery’s wear come from the last ten percent of a charge as it’s almost like filling a balloon up to the brink of exploding. It is also bad to discharge a lithium ion battery below 3.7 volts which is around 20% in a device, as anything below can begin to damage the battery chemistry which can shorten your battery lifespan. I used to have a 13 pro and after 1 year of use, following this rule, my battery health was at 98%.

Charge cycles is not battery % based. As long as you consume a total of 100%-no matter have many mini charge sessions it takes-it is one charge cycle for your battery. So, continuing to charge to 80 or 90% will not improve the longevity of your battery. The key is not to charge when the battery temp is too high or low.
