for me the most casual and safe word in dating/complements would be just a simple "you look lovely today ..." I guess complements depend on the way you say them more than the word itself

In Turkish , we generally don’t use different adjectives to describe sb or sth in daily speaking . For an example ; we can use the word “pretty” which means “güzel” in Turkish for describing a car , a woman , a baby , a flower , a book etc. So this video is so helpful for me to see differences between those words as a Turk . Thanks a lot and hope to see more videos about seeing differences between different words 😊👍🏻

I liked the opening, that was so funny. In the UK I don't really hear people use "cute" for adults, but in US dramas they seem to say cute for good looking guys. I hear "cute guys/girls" in US dramas all the time, but never in the UK.

I'm not a native speaker, but my English comprehension is much much better when listening to American English rather than listening to British.. I find it hard to understand dialy British English/eccent.. the thicker british accent the less points I receive. I don't know why.. 😅

I always find these cultural differences quite fascinating. In Southern Africa we have an English culture of our own yet the accents and ways with words are similar. If I can think of the worst way to hit on someone I'd use a phrase from the Northern Vaal parts. They'd say something like: "You'd go nice with a bun and a coke". It basically means that you're a "proper piece of meat". Flattering.

Oh! Irishes say "gorgeuous" for anything: children, puppies, food, good weather... I've learned with them to say this word all times too haha

Charming has a cognate in portuguese (charmoso) that's not really formal, we use it all the time, when we want to say someone has "attractive manners" and not just looks, if that makes sense. So I use charming a lot! Never knew it was weird to use it in informal contexts! Thank you for the tip!

This might be a stupid question, but: In the beginning you said: "Me either." - I always thought in this context it would be "Me Neither." - so "I am NOT a poet AS WELL"... Is "neither" wrong? Btw: Great Video as always!

I think he said "me Neither", it's just his pronunciation. and as for the second question, if there's "not", you can't say "neither".

Because Either uses in negative sense So don't need neither.

If you say 'me Neither' in this situation that means you don't agree with his opinion and gives contrast meaning .
