Something to test. If you put a suppressor on a weapon that has an underbarrel attachment, the underbarrel is also suppressed. Curious if it's just the sound affected, of if it also keeps you off radar. Such as an AK with Suppressor and Masterkey.

I had to rewatch this because I had it in my head, Snipers glare did not start till x5 scope. This makes so much more sense.

Thanks for this. I was trying a different tactic the other day on kaleidoscope by running with an AC-42 with x6 scope and high power rounds, and had been wondering if the scope glint would happen. Was good to have the flexibility on this weapon to go to sniper mode if needed.

Question on the 5.0x scope thats default on the BSV-M but unlockable on other guns and the 4.5x canted scope, Does those give glare too? that was initially believed to be the highest zoom without glare but the 4.0x gives glare on Snipers and SMGs oddly.

3:45 I do use 6x scopes on both my SFAR and AK-24, paired with the high damage ammo, taping in semi auto these snipers trying to pin me down... its very useful in breakthrough

Does the GVT, which is categorized in the utility class like the shotguns, show glare? I'd assume it does with at least 6x and above, but maybe it doesn't for the 4x? I know very few people use that but I kinda like to run it with a 6x to rapid snipe some people

In relation to glare, and this video showing up in the top search results for the following question: How does the blinding effect of the flashlight work in BF2042? That is, at which range is it blinding, and at which range is it just like a sniper glare? Is it ever worth it to quicktoggle the flashlight on/off? Does the blinding effect linger like the concussion grenade or is it only like a strong sniper glare? From what I've seen it works up to about 15 meters, at which point it becomes useless, so it is only for extreme CQB. Since no one uses the flashlight in game (that I have seen, where they actively aim at me), I have not been able to verify this myself.

What about the Ghost Hybrid sights that, if I'm not mistaken, can zoom to 4.25x. I may be incorrect but I think it's a 1.25 or 1.5x4.25 powered zoom. Just curious. Thanks for doing these tests.

is there a way to add numbers on scope scale? i need to know which is 100 m, 200 m and so on. Bf4 had numbers on the scope. It even had a set distance if you wanted to arc your shots

Oh wow. I've been playing the game since launch and had just found this out with your video. And here I was thinking I was quite stealthy from afar with a 4-5x scope on a sniper rifle. I think I was thinking bf4 mechanics and only 6x and higher scopes had glints. Thanks my dude. Also, 5x with a marksman doesn't seem to have it. I rarely get discovered when I use it with suppressed MRs. Or am I wrong with this?

What about the bsvm's 5x? Most AR, marksmen and snipers can use it

DICE - how can we fuck with the too hardcores? - Put glares on every single weapon that has a scope equipped. But.. Make it random. They'll think we actually played our game instead of test it, and have a "feel" for what were doing. Coders hate gamers. You'd think someone creating something hundreds of thousands of people will enjoy would love the people going to play with it.. But then you read the forums.. and you realize there is zero chance (if their any good, or been in the "biz" for a bit, or actually love what their doing) that they haven't seen the worst of us. Its not their fault probably, like how a cop who seen some shit may appear cold to his family etc, but some decisions seem like they convinced some suits it'd be cool, even if it they knew in advance, and had previous actual traction from the community how much it was disliked*, glint and to a minor degree "suppression". They were "good ideas, bad game mechanics". Seems like they anted up :P

I stopped using those scopes a long time ago. Ever since I removed the entire game from my computer and never looked back. Jokes aside, I respect the hustle. Though I also hope there will be a new game that hits your interest to inspire your content.

Why didn’t you mention the PSO-1M3 5X .?

All the shooters get this wrong. All scopes will glint only when facing towards sunlight and the angle has to be just right within spectrum. Doesn't matter zoom power. COD and battlefield basically have become the same trash. Nothing tactical about neither one or the other just run and gun and slide even battlefield that used to be a little more tactical has gotten i think worse, they removed naval warfare and reduced their maps to 400 something meters. All of battlefield maps are trash now.
