In this vocabulary video, Grammar man explains the difference between stop, finish and end.
We use the verbs STOP, FINISH AND END in similar ways, to mean ‘come to a stop’:
However, most of the time they are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.
They have different GRAMMATICAL STRUCTURES AND DIFFERENT
MEANINGS.

Finish and end are interchangeable.

you say stop is similar a pause so i say end smoking i dont want to smoke ever again

Hi Joshua, native English speakers would normally say they've quit smoking. There are almost always exceptions to 'rules' in English (which is why I say 'normally' in my explanation)
