Bruddah…I’ve worked minimum wage factory jobs and big tech IT jobs - it’s all the exact same stuff. Once an org gets to a certain size, 75-80% of jobs are bs

As somone who work in corporate world, you are telling the truth, i've spent more time watching you tube than doing the actual work. I sometimes feel bad, that's why I need to quit this job and pursue my own interest, but having enough money is my number one obstacles. Hopefully the market is turning green this year and the next.

Great video. Very sound and sensible advice which is transferrable to any sector. Overworked people eventually burn out and are usually cast out. Giving time and energy to your family, kids, spouse and health pays you back many times over😊

We had your so-called Chad type of lad who joined my firm at the same time as me. Two months later he was fired for being one of the most incompetent F-ups I have come across.

Lol this only applies to jobs in front of a computer all day. I've seen me desk maybe 5 times this year, thrice just to check on my stuff. We're always on the foundry floor, working on machines. I wish I could get to my cube.

Yeah I would say don't go full on time thief as it is legally called, but overall putting yourself first, and the company at most at "medium" and just doing an avg or slightly above avg job is the way to go.

Let’s address the elephant in the room. Salary. When I was a qualified nurse working in the NHS, over worked, under staffed, looking after 16 poorly patients, cleaning bodily fluids, administration of medication, drug calculations, the list is endless. I took home £1830 per calendar month after tax and total deductions. (My pension age was 67) I work for finance now. And I took home 2.3k work from home. I’ve worked my way up and I’m on final salary of my job £2.7k same conditions. Retirement 57. Next job role starts at 56k, money talks.

I'm glad you have made this channel and I will be following along closely because I have been a big proponent of this for a while. I'm curious to know (maybe you have mentioned elsewhere) but have you quite the corporate world all together? Do you believe in 'career' (not to get philosophical but I believe a career attempts to fill the empty void in your life, hence workoholics, similar to alcoholics, try to circumvent confronting the realities of life with work).

Dont forget NEPOTISM. I have a masters, and my equal management coworker last job was a cashier at Target. He got to my position due to his Dad, in a Fortune 100 company. I quite quitted back in 2010 before they had a term for it 😂😂😂

04:16 resonated with me. I got good grades in school, worked hard, got a first class degree then joined the work force. I realised after about a year of working that charisma and being able to successfully politic was the way up the career ladder. That was never going to work for me as I was one of the 'hardworking technicians' that you describe. I got on really well with my coworkers but relationships were always just surface level and polite. I was highly productive but not as entertaining as other people. I also became frustrated that I was fulfilling such an important role in society yet I was paying a student tax every month for having the audacity to get an education. I was paying an extra £100 per month to pay interest of my student loan and this irritated me. I reasoned that with my ability to work hard I may as well take the chance to go self employed as I'd rather be poor and autonomous than spend a lifetime trying to climb a greasy pole that was never made for people like me. Plus, self-employment could pay off in the long run.

I was laughing and enjoying this video because of how straight forwardly he gave those examples and I 100% agree with him. In general most(not every) management/owner sees employee as a resource and would hardly appreciate a hard worker. Instead that hard worker would get more work/responsibilities without increase in salary.
