Is it possible to love the preaching of online preachers and still be lost? We asked Paul Washer, "What would you say to someone who faithfully, regularly is listening to your sermons on the Internet, but they are not regularly and faithfully being in the Word of God and in prayer?"

I really needed to hear this. My grandfather's a preacher and I've always loved listening to different preachers but sometimes I ignore God because of this and think I'm justified because I like theology, I'm going to repent!

I have heard you several times and as I was listening I thanked God that young people--( all people--You know what I mean)-that He is raising up laborer's for this end-time harvest of souls such as yourself. I love that comment he said about the students thinking he was the apostle Paul and leaving praying for his salvation. I can relate to that being a missionary. People so easily work up standards of perfection for those they look up to or wear the title of pastor, missionary, or elder. We all have a calling and are all equally fallen, and when you bear a title that the world esteems as extra holy, you feel your sin and humanness even more, at least i do. God bless you all.

never forget Paul Washer is a man just like us and capable of sin. Never forget King David was a "man after God's own heart" and he committed adultery(or rape some would say) and murder a man, cause he might as well have killed Uriah by his own hand. "All like sheep have gone astray", but God is good and mighty to save. Pray for celebrity preachers daily. It is sure to say they are high on Satan's hit list.

This is the way a true man of God and a true prophet-teacher should respond to the questions that were asked. When he says that the students were praying for his salvation, I'm reminded of the apostle Paul who said, "if the righteous are barely saved..." And what preacher who preaches against sin the way he does WOULDN"T be a little depressed? He delivers some tough messages and it's not popular these days. GBU Paul.

Mr. Washer Throughout the history of the scripture the words we know that are spoken by God to be the absolute truth, He has always used the least of men to do His work. He chose Moses ,a murderer, He chose Elijah filled of fear and depression He chose David who was a fornicator We must never look at ourselves as unworthy to be chosen by God to do His work. Each man God chooses for His own purpose , is not a random choice, but God knows he is capable of doing His work You are a blessing

Paul Washer has a passion for Christ. He speaks about having a relationshop with Christ How will we know if we dont seek and call on his name. Falling on our face and seeking him. Amen brother Paul too many pastors are too afraid to say these things cause people will leave. Im glad youre not scared! Jeremiah 29:13-Matthew 6-11

After I was saved 16 years ago, I felt my zeal was pushed down by more "mature" Christians, because they would say "she will settle down" and was snubbed to some degree. I conformed, thus my heart grew dull. A year ago, I did a KZfaq search and consequently found Paul Washer. His teaching has encouraged me to be zealous for Christ again. I hope even if PW fell (hope that doesn't happen), I would still be just as zealous for Christ. Thank you for keeping us in check I'll Be Honest.

I agree. Since so much of depression is due to a chemical imbalance, you have to deal with that as well as force yourself to face reality about believing lies. It's also interesting to see how common depression is among God's people.

What Washer was referring to was a girl that was lost & she wanted to be a missionary so bad, that she was afraid if she gave her life to the Lord & got saved, He wouldn't allow her to be a missionary, and she wanted to be a missionary more than she wanted to be saved. It was idolatry, so even good things like that, if made into idols, can keep us from coming to Christ. In no way does being a missionary save you or atone for your sins. See 1 Cor. 13:3 which could be referring to martyrdom.

I once considered the Great preachers to be better than myself. But once I saw how the person really acted I learned that they were no less a sinner than me. We are all sinners, we can not see each other more or less than what what we are. God doesn't love a preacher more than a true servant of God. God loves us all the same. That's why Jesus died for us. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Incidentally, as an atheist I make no claim, only a response of no belief to the initial claim for the existence of something unproven and untestable. In court of law a person is deemed not guilty until proven guilty, so it goes with any of thousands of god theories--also unproven (and not to be believed) until it is proven. Now, I NEVER said--"I know 100% there is no god"---that would be claiming knowledge I don't have. I claim only the default position of no belief for lack of evidence.

It's a sad truth when people go to church for all the wrong reasons. Just because someone goes to a Christian church, doesn't mean they're a Christian.. ya know? I know a lot of people that go to church, but don't actually walk the walk..

@jfitguru08 Lets apply your argument to every claim for anything supernatural. Should I then grant plausibility to any theory anyone postulates? Do YOU grant the same consideration for thousands of existing "god" concepts that are different than your Christian god? There is no limit to the speculations and projections the human mind is capable of to explain what they don't know. The only rational approach is to cast skepticism on all unproven theories until they are validated by sound evidence.

Hi! I am from Denmark. This is for someone who wants to answer. Seems like everyone in America is an "Christian". In my country, only 2 percent of population goes to church, and maybe half of these really believes. But we say my country is "christian" How come that america has over 50 percent of population that goes to church???

@sweetsweatyfeet You hit the nail on the head. For what is not understood they speculate whatever feels good. They project human personality attributes to the origin of existence. They see the product of human "creation" so they assume (falsely) that everything complex, including all of existence must also be created by a personality intelligence. This is fallacious reasoning and capricious projection characteristic of primitive thinking---it's also one huge argument from ignorance.

@XXXFirebird76XXX @XXXFirebird76XXX Not only is "no belief for lack of evidence" NOT spin, it's the very premise of the atheist position. It's also one of the rudimentary principles of logic. If a theory, claim or speculation is not followed up with evidence to validate it, the only valid default position is disbelief. In fact the entire 'scientific method' is predicated on this. God is not for the atheist to disprove when it has never be demonstrably shown to exist.
@XXXFirebird76XXX
@XXXFirebird76XXX 14 жыл бұрын
@sweetsweatyfeet Ok then, their are a few things I'd like you to PROVE to me with the scientific method. First, prove that I exists outside of your mind. Second, prove that value exists. Third, prove the beauty exists. Fourth, prove that logical truths exist. Fifth, prove that mathematical truths exist.
@sweetsweatyfeet

Christians may well claim to "see" evidence for their christian god just as theists of every persuasion see evidence for their own particular gods. But this is simply because the theist's belief system has imparted in them a strong desire to want their god to exist. This in turn distorts the thinking process and perception of reality. Theists are simply projecting (by desire) an easy answer for what they do not know--and it is no answer for it explains nothing--it's just a cop-out.

@bambuskaktusa Thats an interesting question! Many in America have a sign on there head that says they are a Christian! But its not different then in Denmark. For it is estimated by some that out of all those who profess Christ, only 10% are really converted. I would say that we have more false profits and false teachers in America, and I dont really know why? Maybe we have more money to throw around? But be assured the vast majority are pseudo-Christians!
@sweetsweatyfeet
@sweetsweatyfeet 14 жыл бұрын
@jfitguru08 I can no more "prove" the Abrahamic god is a falsehood than I can disprove any claim in the realm of the supernatural. Nor am I required by any standard of reason. We are never called upon to prove a negative. Elementary rules of logic teach us the burden of proof lies with those proposing a theory (there are thousands of god theories), not with those who are skeptical. Until a claim or theory is proven by rational standards of evidence, the default position is to NOT believe it.

@sweetsweatyfeet The classic (not hard core) atheist position makes no claims about the existence of god. I have never asserted----I know for a fact there is no god. For one thing I don't possess absolute knowledge and if I ever made such an assertion I would be closing myself to the possibility of evidence should it ever present itself. This would betray the very premise of evidence driven atheism which is the only kind I support.

@sweetsweatyfeet An absence of belief is nothing. It is not a position, view, perspective, point of view, belief, or anything else. It is not something of substance. And yet you still talk about a Christian's belief as if you know something they don't.

@sweetsweatyfeet The "no belief for lack of evidence" argument is just spin. You Atheists believe if you word your sentences correctly, you have nothing to prove. If this is true, you should only say that you see no evidence for God. Instead, you make all sorts of assertions and then attempt to fall back on the "lack of evidence" spin as if nobody noticed the claims you just made.

NO! actually he said there is no such thing as 'Men of God' meaning God is no respector of people so we all have the ability to get equal intimacy with God. Some men would dare claim that they are able to recieve 'special revelations' that no one else can. But Paul is saying everyone sins. And we're ALL saved by GRACE ALONE, every single christian. He didnt say "no such thing as godly"! There's a huge difference. When you watch videos, DONT FORGET TO LISTEN ALSO. you sound ignorant

What's next--asking me to prove gravity? or that twice two is four? Your questions translate into--how do we validate knowledge? Take a damn course in epistemology or even science--the short answer is evidence of the senses, testability, repeatability and others. But I don't really think you're interested--you're just trying to fuck with me in order to evade the question of theistic belief. I'm wise to your attempts at intimatation with your annoying little mind games and I won't play them.

You promote WORLD OF WARCRAFT -- which is nothing more than occult witchcraft -read your Bible its an abomination to God. besides what has darkness have to do with light? isnt that partaking of the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons? maybe you prefer Joel Osteen?
