It is a problem of spare parts not ability to repair or maintain them. Many of the imported tractors were barely useful due to the nature of the soil in much of the country. So people did not bother to do anything once they break down. So it is a matter of bad governmental choices probably with a corruption undertone from well connected people who procure equipments for tgeir own benefitd regardless of the cost to public treasure.

Tractors are not appropriate to the light sandy soil of the Sahel, period. They are a mismatched technology, unless the small ones to dig roads. They are junk because they create aridization of the soil.

@@Gencturk92 I live in the Netherlands. I was born and raised in England. So for the commonwealth nations it is dues and contributions to maintain being help out by the British crown but it is a shame for a taxation by France??? But to me it is the same thing but done differently though. And Senegal and the other francophone nations are not complaining, prove that they are in agreement to this. What is good for the goose should be good for the gander.

I have been praying to meet a brother or sister from the continent. I just met a Sengalese at work. He makes $80K USD a year, and he visits many European countries that he likes, although he is living in the U.S. He is friendly, but even though I have shared my knowledge of Senegal and Africa in general, including some musical artists from Mali that I love. He won't really open up. We work around whites, but when he looks at me he doesn't really give me the "brother" look. He is dark and I look a little hispanic. Is that the issue or what? Confused. Maybe it's just my desperation to be friends with someone from the continent. Just really tired of being around white people. Any advice is appreciated. If this sounds soft just know I'm not gay and he's not gay. Lol.
