Hey Monkeyfamily!
This week I take a look at the Stoppit and Tidyup books which were published as tie-ins for the children's animated series, first aired in September 1988!

I had quite a few of these when I was a kid. I thought they were really funny, and liked that they lived in a tip. Strangely enough, I didn't realise they were based on a cartoon until I googled it years later. Great trip down memory lane 👍

Despite being used to the voice of Wogan (my Mum was glued to Radio Two), I don't recall this show at all and as such, never knew these books existed. Thanks you for showing this remnant of 80s goodness.

I had no idea these existed in book form! I have the DVD set. My nephew enjoyed watching them when he was young (relatively recently), so they still hold up.

Yeah I have the DVD set as well, I forgot to mention that. I have no excuses, I bought it as a 46 year-old man with no other motivation except nostalgia. 😅

Thanks for the look at the books. I remember this show and liked the amusing names for the characters. Never knew they did books of it though (but I was of course a bit too old to notice them)

Very nice Monkeyboy, I've never seen these before. They look to me like an ITV version of the Mr Men books (if that makes sense). The Stop it character reminds me of the educational books featuring the Fuzz Buzz. All very cool!

I know what you mean about them being an ITV version of Mr. Men haha 😅 although the cartoons were first shown on BBC1 and repeated on BBC2. Thanks for watching dude 👍🐵

Donald is looking large and in charge. Never heard of this property. We had something similar over here "ShutTheFUp" or "I'llGiveYouSomethingToCryAbout" but it was more of an oral tradition vs written book. It was the sort of thing where you didn't want to get to the conclusion. I don't think those big radios are in fashion much. I do see smaller blue-tooth music devices that get quiet loud. I think kids don't use audio cassettes and CDs anymore. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week.

Nice books, man. I didn’t realise they were from 1988, I thought they were older than that. The program and books were definitely aimed at kids of my age at the time. Good work 👍

I have no memories of these, though they do seem to be mildly familiar, maybe my younger brother used to watch it. I do remember Trap Door. You seem to have invented 2 new characters, Fucked it up and Nevermind 😂

These books can be hard to explain... Person 1: What's this character's name? Person 2: Not now. Person 1: Okay, forget that then. Can I ask who this one is? Person 2: Stoppit. Person 1: Well, screw you then. I won't talk to you anymore. ;P

Don't Cry Over Nothing, Don't Talk To Strangers, Now Think About What You've Done, You Can't Have That, We Don't Always Get What We Want, and the big, bad GO TO YOUR ROOM! It would make the show a lot darker. ;P
