I think that when Geoffrey tilted over on his side he struck his smoke box on a very large rock and as science shows us a hard enough blow to the head is enough of a death blow and smoke boxes are pretty much the heads of non faceless steam engines

In my rewrite his crash was less severe, however his tender was too battered up and had to be scrapped as o he needed a new one It was when Patrick was sent packing when he returned

@TheTrainTheoristOfficial
@TheTrainTheoristOfficial 3 ай бұрын
So Geoffrey came from the Right side of Gordon's Hill, which is a very sharp turn, compared to the middle or left track.

How about a theory about how Thomas survived getting blown up while other engines like Colin, Lilly, Benson and Mickey couldn't? Unlike those other engines, Thomas' body was mostly intact and he was still alive.
@joestuffProductions5006

I think he survived because he was moving away from the explosion when it happened so he was probably at least a little bit far from the tanker unlike lily Collen Benson and Mickey

@@joestuffProductions5006 I don't know about that. It looks like he was less than a meter away from the tanker. Mickey was further away from the bomb yet he still got blown to pieces.

Allow me to explain. Metal fatigue was a thing with the engines in the Stories of Sodor. But it was more common with the Midis as they had to work twice as harder than the other three during the days of the big four. Adam, Randolf and Peter all had metal fatigue as an underlying illness prior to their incidents. Given the former, I'm assuming that metal fatigue for engines is like having an anuerysm or heart disease for humans, which is the result of too much stress. That's rare to survive for humans. As Adam, Randolf and Peter - who were all Midis obviously had metal fatigue as an underlying illness prior to their incidents, its likely that Geoffrey had it as well. Thus why he died on impact.

He ran down the hill at a quick speed and ran down the pipe off the rails, the fast impact killed his crew and the force of the impact had like cracked his firebox and boiler, maybe his smokebox too. (this is just my theory) not to mention the fact he ran off the slope near the rails and then fell off

I’m sorry but i’m a 6th grader that doesn’t like physics lesson cause it’s the last lessons of the last two days so this is quite the head scratcher! I do not understand a lot of stuff in this! I can simphy Geoffrey’s death like this: Geoffrey was pulling the flying kipper for Henry, but when going down Gordon’s hill he derailed cause of a pipe coming off the track, smashing into the ground, bursting his boiler and dying. It’s way more complicated, yes, but i’m only 12 and I don’t understand much!

I wonder how Henry survived though, could’ve been since he wasn’t going down a steep hill while on the tracks and even the slope he went down while derailing wasn’t that steep plus he also likely wasn’t going that fast (I can’t do math to save my life but I’m getting a general idea from what we’ve seen visually). Though the fact his crew and guard getting killed was glossed over though and not brought up, wonder how he reacted once his repairs were done

>The "main body" A.K.A. the 'engine' >12T means it can load 12 tons (what variation of ton, long, short or metric?) of cargo Theoretically if the cargo is in long tons that gives us a max weight of 12,192 kg (yes I can't be bothered with the bullshit that is the imperial system) with a tare (empty) weight of 10,150 kg, so 22,442 kg per van assuming they're fully loaded BR Dia. 801. Insulated Fish Vans. >it's probably a little heavier than 20 tons, safe to assume 20.2 tons, so we'll assume 20,524 kg >assuming the train was heading down the hill, it would have been going about 35-39 mph. >safe to assume we do not see the entirety of the crash, just snippets of it, I would assume it took at least 25 seconds from initial impact on the pipe to Geoffrey settling on his side. >last I recall, Joule is a unit of energy, not force >Assuming Geoffrey's driver diameter is 4'8", that pipe would be about ⅔s the size? It would probably be best to use this method of calculation for when Henry crashed into the part of Donald's train that broke away.
