That whole area is just ridiculous. No wall bearing of any kind. Homes at the edge of the cliffs. What were the builders thinking and how did it get permitted?

Just looking at the hillside you see who ever does their engineering and/or construction would NEVER leave a vertical slope like that, it could have been stepped off, especially in that area…

There have been cracks opening up right in the roads in Rancho Palos Verdes for at least a year. There have been many warnings.

I lived in Malibu in the 50s! This is nothing new and not due to climate change! Look and see what year the "Big Rock Retaining Wall", in Malibu had to be put in! We moved out of Malibu for two reasons, almost yearly there were, landslides and Wildfires!

The American continents are slowly drift westward across the pacific. A large part of California is probably made up of islands that were scraped off the ocean floor, broken up, jumbled around, and has a lot less cohesion than the land further inland.

People who dont live in high risk areas should not have to pay for millionaires to have their homes rebuilt in the same place so they can do it all over again in a few years. If you have the millions to purchase a mansion on a cliff, you should be able to afford your own repairs and your own insurance.
