haven't tried building a submarine yet (toying with an idea for a submersible though) but it seems to me that If you build the submarine largely how you would like it to be with most heavy components installed, and then measure out equal distance from the center of gravity point to the front and back and make identical ballast tanks you should get an equal amount of bouyancy without much trial and error.

I wish there was weight stand-ins and theoretic power testings in this game. I mean yeah you can test trial and error for things like buoyancy with ballast tanks or lift with a certain engine and gear ratio, but that ends up changing as you add more and more stuff on it and I feel like I can't actually accurately test it until I have filled a bit of it in. And then it becomes an annoying game of "do I completely renovate the setup I have to accommodate the change I need or do I build the accommodations around the existing setup?" If there was like a weight stand-in besides weight blocks or just spamming in batteries and a way to quickly test power setups of the effect an increased load of just the vehicle itself would make would be great. I run into this a lot when building helicopters. Slap down an airplane engine or 2, hook up the bare bones for them. Test it. It flies. Add on everything else, Fire it up for it's maiden flight and it's a rock..... I would have liked to have known I needed to change things when they could easily be changed. Also, sorry if I'm venting a little, we need to know the optimized grip % for the various wheels and tank treads. I know with treads track tension you generally want the total sum of all wheels, both drive (the gear-like ones) and guide (the round ones), that are in contact with the ground on the same track to equal 100%. So if you have a tracked vehicle with 5 wheels on each side with 3 of them contacting the ground, you'd need an average of 33% track tension on those ground contact wheels. One of them can have 34. This is what I've discovered through simple trial and error, but the margin of variable is a lot smaller for treads on vehicles.

From a realistic view point this is kinda weird. The air inside the ballst tanks before flooding has to go SOMEWHERE. Just pumping in the water wouldn't get rid of the air so the pressure inside the tanks would get incredible high. Is air a viable "fluid" / volume in Stormworks? Or does the game not recognize air as such?

Anyone else watching the all the submarine building episodes just to find the correct way to put the small fluid pump

As of v.0.4.50, I cant seem to get fluid pumps to work in advanced mode. Everything is connected, electrical to switches and pumps, switches are connected directly to pumps. However, no particle effects from ports. Is this a bug?

What if one of your pumps doesn't work. The one in the back works perfectly fine, but the one in the front says that no water is coming in. I even put portholes in both sides, but the front one still didn't work. Can you tell me if this is just a bug or if there is reasoning behind it.
