It doesn’t matter where you put the tilt sensor. It measures only attitude, not altitude. You can check that multiple tilt sensors positioned differently but facing the same direction produce the same output.

dunno mate as it does count change from where it is from were it was.. In this example if he put it lower in boat the tilt would be a diffrent number also arrow indicator is telling you what way tilt works so maybe 3y ago that was the case but for last 2years it is bulllshit what you wrote

@@Warzone151097 I've only noticed afterburners making a difference after you've maxed the speed of the engine at the throttle setting. After that, it'll give an extra, it seems like, 2~10% more speed after a straight run, but yeah. Afterburners are a little disappointing. Kind of like the wheel grip system currently in place. That needs to improve a lot as well.

@@MrNJersey I think you read me wrong on this one. I was completely joking. I usually build things in excess. If it has an engine in it, better put 3 more just in case. If it's reaching 40 kts at it's peak, what can adding a few rockets do? I've totally used this setup on my smaller boats after you've posted it, and it certainly is less effective on larger builds. I use your weights on rail system on those. But I wasn't taking a swing at this at all. I was just joking at the ridiculousness of jet powered boats and how much "a little more throttle" can make things go so magnificen-I mean horribly wrong. . . . Half the time I'm in creative mode, I'm testing the limitations of the game. So those jet boats are more or less speed tests or even "will this work" tests. That being said, would either stabilization system work reliably at 200+ kts? I'm not questioning your systems at all, but they're meant for more realistic speeds and conditions. I'm just wondering if simply ramping up the equations in them would do the trick or adding more rudders or weights and sliders (for the interior hull rail-based Mr NJersey stabilizer) would do that as well? Got something new to test. . . Also, side note. I finally went and dove down to inspect the MRN Jersey wreckage. . . .Is there a back story they've provided or is it just named after you for your community contribution. That thing just is mangled and it looks like it has a story behind it. Again sorry if there was some kind of misunderstanding of this joke.

@manuellopes8281
@manuellopes8281 4 жыл бұрын
just saying that roll is something boat doin real life and it is what permits them to turn sharpely at planing speeds and the pitch is used to get more speed when the boat starts to going fast you want it to have to pitch up sleightly to get almost only the propellers in the water and after that it to level out but only if the hull is lifted out of the water so it can go as fast as possible. If you want it to be more realistic in small boats you should have trim tabs and propeller pitch so you can make this happes as it should

I'm currently having a problem when I reverse. I have a roll and pitch stability system. It works great when I'm going forward. It consists of 2 fin rudders at the back of the boat on the port and starboard sides. There is also one in between them. The ones port and starboard are for roll stabilization. The one in the center is for pitch stabilization. They work flawlessly when going forwards. If I take a left turn the boat wants to roll right the starboard fin goes down the port goes up. The pitch fin also works properly. But when I reverse they increase the motions. The pitch fin adds to the pitching moment and the roll fins exaggerate the roll instead of countering it and cause the boat to roll over. I have tried to fix this a couple of way and no luck yet. First I tried tying it into the throttle position (and electric motor rps) using a threshold gate and a numerical switchbox. If the throttle is at -.01 - 1 I tried to send the info as an inverse signal so that it still works but in reverse. Secondly I have tried to Just shut off the system and send a 0 signal if the throttle position is -.01 to -1. Any ideas thanks

Don't you want the front pitch to be inverted compared to the back? So you can pivot around the center of mass? So if the nose comes up the back is pushed up and the front is pulled down. My problem is wiring that up. Because you can no longer do it with just two add blocks. I don't get why you can't directly connect multiple things to one rotor and have it just add itself.

I have this problem where if i face slight away from the on coming waves, as i come over the wave the boat will steer itself towards the wave and will keep doing this until its driving straight towards the wave. Any help on sorting this strange problem would be greatly apricated. NOTE * its nothing to do with the front 'pitch' im almost sure its the roll sensor kicking off as i go over the wave and bringing the side facing the wave down quickly causing the ship to 'steer'
@tomshackell
@tomshackell Жыл бұрын
This is a fantastic video and was really useful, however some of the information in it is wrong. If you also add fins on the front of the boat, those fins are *inverted* for pitch (but not for roll) because they are in front of the CG. Hence you actually need two new adds for the front two fins. They should use the same roll as their corresponding rear fin, but add the inverted pitch value. So: * for a 2 fin setup: you need 2 functions (1 pitch, 1 roll), 1 inverter (just roll), 2 adds (one for each fin). * for a 4 fin setup: you need 2 functions (1 pitch, 1 roll), 2 inverters (1 pitch, 1 roll) and 4 adds (one for each fin). Alternatively for the 4 fin setup you can use the original 2 f(x) (1 pitch, 1 roll) as described in the video and 4 f(x,y,z) (one for each fin: x + y, -x + y, x + -y, -x + -y)

@@redpug5042 Yes. His logic is sound. If engine is off, and key is off: 0 is supplied as throttle, No signal is sent to the starter. If engine RPS is above 5, and key is off: 0 is supplied to throttle, none transmitted to the starter. if engine RPS is above 5 and key is on: Throttle value is sent to throttle, but no signal is sent to the starter. I need help!! Im building decently sized ship with 4 diesel engines (which should be more than enough to power it), but I’m having a lot of problems to make it go faster than 10 m/s. It’s propulsion system consists in (as I said) 4 large Diesel engines, powering 2 large propellers with gearboxes, the engines should have plenty of air and exhaust since they all have 1 large fluid slot for air and 2 pipe exhausts each, with pumps. For some reason, the engines can’t reach max RPS, their limit rps is already at 100, and the situation doesn’t change if they are not connected to the gearboxes and propellers. When I check their stats it seems like they don’t have enough air or exhaust (thing that shouldn’t be happening), and those stats change between all 4 engines (but I’ve built them identical to each other), and yes I’ve already checked all pumps are powered and facing in the right direction. Pls help me, I’ve been dealing with this problem for moths

@hiddengnome

I would assume more stable because the travel time of the fins is much faster and has more impact directly on the vessel WHILE moving, which would also mean that the weight system doesn't have to do as much travel ( keeping closer to center). An advantage of mixing these is that you also have stabilization while not moving.

or you can just put an altimiter in each corner, in the same setup as your hydrofoil, except you put the altimeter at the water line.

@@ballistexx7864 You need to think like computer a.k.a. in binary :P Actually it is pretty easy, you start with simple task and then just put those simple task together, even autopilots etc. are just simple tasks together making complex system Start small, for ex. friend wanted tank controls for turret so I made him one, but I wouldn't make that just because I CAN do that but because there was a NEED for that So challenge yourself and keep practicing!
