NOTE: For those of you guys who try this and get a black screen, make sure your brightness is above 0. Great tutorial man, someone suggested I check out the lesser known KZfaqrs, good call. Hopefully you will go far my guy. Also, I didn't know there was a size limit for the code, lets just say "brightness" became "b" real quick haha, at first I doubted. Now I do not.

I came here for the on screen zoom buttons. Very underrated video, great job. Only slight little remark I have is to point out where to change values for larger map sizes like when you skipped over the 64,64. No need to hand hold further than that. Thanks for the content ! Subscribed.

Awesome map! I was pretty confused why the dot didn't follow then realized it's set to the coordinates typed in the key pad. A gps sensor goes a long way :D

nvm i decided to remove the arrows except for the zoom in out feature cuz my small tiny peanut brain cant handle fixing bugs nice one!

Hey man I managed to get this partially functional. Followed your script but I can’t seem to get the zoom in and the up and down arrows to work. My arrows light up but no function. My zoom in has no action. What am I doing wrong?

if i turn on the screen its says, Tick error, 10:attempt to call a niv value (field 'getnumber'). I check the LUA its okay 0 errors, everything is copied exactly like in the video. Btw isnt this need a gps locator on the boat? cuz i tried it and its doesnt work either no matter what i connect to what. Thanks if any1 answers me :)

@@tregreen1885 i managed to get it work, some lines had errors with missing ' or ( ) etc. Also you yes, you need a gps on the boat.

Very helpful video, but i have a problem, i did everything you did in the video but when i set the brightness to any number the screen stays black, any idea what might be the problem? thanks for the video anyway.

Make sure to change the composite write to have enogh channels to match the numbers in the lua script. i had an issue where i was getting errors because the channel numbers werent matching up

@@Bendigo1 Hey man, do you mean errors like getting a blue screen on the monitor? If so i do not have that problem, my problem is that my monitor just stays black after i turn it on no matter what brightness i set. How many channels you have in your composite write? I have 3 channels just like the guy in the video, Brightness goes trough the numerical switchbox and then connects to the 1st channel, X goest to the 2nd channel and Y goes to the 3th, do i need more channels? If not i feel like i did something wrong in the Lua script, and if you could Copy and Paste your Script i could try that to see if the problem is with something i typed wrong. Thank you for trying to help me :)

@@weavybigiron8291 yes, i was getting a blue screen with an arithmatic error. i downloaded the microcontroller he made to compare my setup to. i still can not getm mine to work and am working on it. i noticed that on the one he had on steam he has acomosite write with 9 channels but in the video he only uses 4. but there are getNumers(6) and higher in the script. on your setup it sounds like the monitor isnt wired up right or is not turning on. i would double check the connections.

@@Bendigo1 I got the brightness to work, you were right, it has to do with the channel numbers, sadly for some reason touch doesnt work but at least the rest seems to work, if you are still getting a blue screen it probably has to do with the Lua Script, maybe you forgot to (end) a line. If i manage to make it work properly ill make you know and ill try to explain it to you. Edit:Remember you can check for errors inside the Lua Script, if it doesnt show errors and you still get a blue screen, in the screen should tell you what is the problem. If you want tell me what is the error and ill try to help.

@@weavybigiron8291 I i need to g through and check the numbers in the LUA file. the touch not working could be bcause of the wrong x/y coordinates, they have to match up otherwise it wont work.

@@tscbrave4201 I guess just stick with this 2x2 monitor for now. If you really need a 5x3 map you can definitely find some on the workshop. Once you get a better grasp on the game you'll for sure be able to modify map code to fit any screen, its just hard for me to explain which exact changes to make over text.
