Aerial footage shared on Twitter showed the extent of flooding from the River Great Ouse in Bedford, UK, on December 26.
Emergency services rescued people from properties in the area on Christmas Day and emergency assistance centers were set up to provide shelter to residents.
Floodwaters persisted in Bedford on December 27, officials said. They cautioned residents to be vigilant, “Do not walk through floodwaters, they can contain unknown hazards.”
Storm Bella brought powerful gusts across many parts of the country. The Isle of Wight recorded the strongest winds, with gusts of up to 106 miles per hour, according to the Met Office.
