After watching you field improvised buck saw video, I just had to go and make one. I have used it at some of my reenactment events and it went over very well, especially with the cord made from hemp cordage. After watching this video and saw the design and craftmenship of this saw, I had to order one. It is a classic old time design, very well made and cuts like a dream.

Nicely done Corporal. I especially like the different wood holding techniques you demonstrated. This looks like a project I can make. Thanks from a former Buck Sergeant.

Nice video and review. This looks like a very good bucksaw if you want one professionally made, but I would also recommend to people who want a bucksaw that they should consider making one themselves. It does not require much skill to make, and while yours might not look as pretty as the professionally made ones, you will still have a bucksaw that functions just as well for a fraction of the price. Plenty of tutorials for this online.

Nice design. Glad to see a high quality Bahco blade on it. I make small light weight(under 14oz) backpacking bucksaws and would not consider any other blade.

Hello, I just received one of your saws through Self Reliance Outfitters. Thank you for your craftsmanship. Question: do you have items for sale? I looked at your facebook page and it only had one item listed and it was sold. How do I see what you have for sale? Corporal mentioned a saw made of Zebrawood. Also, am interested in one of your handled ferro rods.

I’m thinking of using 1 of these to cut some long boards on my house that cover the poles (my house was originally a pole barn). They go from the concrete slab all the way up to the attic. I’d want to just cut them down where the attic (ceiling) starts on the outside of the house. Back the truck up to it, put the ladder in the back and cut them. Why right...well they were polyurethaned and have wore slam out. I’d rather do it now than when they rot or mold.

Love the review. Walnut is beautiful especially when those smooth curves in the design. Walnut is much like hickory in grain patterns and mechanical properties. Ash would be good choice for the same reason ball bats are made from ash wood. Made an Alaskan pack frame from ash 40 years ago using Mother Earth News article. Ash is also coming down all over the Southeast US due to insect problems. I will definitely check the websites out. Thank you.

I believe I have the same saw just received it and tested the saw is black walnut very well made but I have a problem when I tighten the paracord saw is tight but side to side the saw blade is loose as I saw and apply pressure it cuts in a curbed fashion not a straight cut. saw blade needs spacers to keep blade from moving side to side.

Hey bud, how about playlists to segregate your videos into easily and more definable groups to find things easier and/or sponge a ton of information back to back? i.e. Knots - a playlist with all your knot tying videos. Product reviews - all reviews together.
