I could never wrap my head around straddling. Mainly because because all my buddies trying to explain it to me were usually stoned or drunk.

Same. This video honestly beats around the bush quite a bit. The main takeaway is that it’s basically just a third blind, a bigger blind

Informative video. Glad you are making these "beginner" videos, hopefully helps the new players. In my experience I like it when others are straddling, as you stated, they are playing blind, but we still get to look at our cards. However a big stack can straddle, which can sometimes be daunting to the smaller stacks at the table....Its another "tool" in your toolbox. Keep up the good work!

Cept if straddle is $5, its a $3 raise of bb, so min raise should be to $8, not $10.

It certainly would be helpful if they delt the first two cards because that in and of itself is confusing in the explanation

Why do you enforce rules for straddle? Can't you just bet without looking at your cards and it's the same thing?

Straddling has got to be the most aggravating part of cash game poker. If you wanna get more chips flying widen your 3-bet range and your BB calling range. That being said UTG straddles sure. People who button straddle can go fly a kite

@@coloruppoker from a theory standpoint straddling is always a -EV move. I personally only do it if I’m up big in a game, like 2 or more buy-ins and I’m giving the table action
