My home was built in 1915. I found an old Jergens Lotion bottle laying in the mud filled with dirt. Took it in the house cleaned it out. So beautiful!!!! Love bottles and vintage and antique things!!

Young man I watch your videos with great interest. I'm in the UK, but that doesn't matter, your enthusiasm and knowledge of what you do is so very interesting! An excellent viewing experience.

I'm so old that I recognized that milk bottle before you even said anything. The bottles didn't really change that much between the bottle you dug up and the milk bottles of 1958-60s. As a kid we used to get milk delivered all the time in those same style of bottles. It wasn't too long into the 1960s that milk delivery came to an end in our area, probably about 1961-62. It might have survived longer in different states, but the demand for it was dwindling. People had to go to the grocery store anyway and they had more control over getting that milk into the fridge before it spoiled. I don't remember the milk being delivered in any protective case. If you weren't home, the milk spoiled. Of course, back then most women were housewives and they were always home.

I just happened to stumble across this video and WOW, this was amazing! I can't believe all the artifacts you found, even in just one hole. And that dirt is to die for; I live in NE Georgia where the soil is red clay. I would kill to garden in that soil - so lovely.

I just discovered you. Wow, my father was a bottle collector. He'd crawl under old houses looking for old bottles and treasures. If he was still here, he would be mesmerized watching you. You are very young , how did you get started? It makes me happy to see young adults getting interested in simpler olden days. Anyway, keep it up young whipper snapper. Lots of ketchup bottles in old dumps..oh by the way did y'all hear about the tomato boot camp?..a company of tomatoes were marching to a inspection..but one recruit was lagging behind..the gunny tomatoe rushed up to him and stomped down on him with his boot and said.."KETCHUP"😬🍅😁

What a great find of mini bottles, all different shapes I love them. Other than that fantastic mixed lots. The flat bottle rings a bell with me as a very early babies feeding bottle, the teat was pulled over the opening, I may be wrong. Thank you again so enjoyable to see these treasures.

I think you really need to make a video showing the different bottles Tool top what that means and all the different styles and terminologies how much the bottles are worth.. I think there's plenty of us who watch your videos who would love to know that

I recently found a buried cache of bottles on my property. Most of the ones I've pulled out are from the 1930s to the 1960s. There are many more to discover.

The bakelite tube you found is part of an atomizer. I have one that is similar and the glass bottle says 'THE TUBE OF THIS ATOMIZER IS MADE OF ONE PIECE PAT. MAY 8th -- 1894' I'm not sure if it is bakelite though, it's a strange material. The bottle you found right after that could be the atomizer bottle for it.

Just subscribed. In 1971 my brother and I dug up an old outhouse from 1952. We found lots of old bottles. We were 10 and 11 years old. Great memories!

That odd shaped blue bottle you couldn't identify with the bent neck makes me think of possibly a small personal oil lamp. Possibly an ink bottle, but inkwells are usually a pretty standard design. I can't imagine anything else that shape would have been used for. Very unique.

I wish you guys had a store to buy bottles from. They are so neat to see.

The tubular bottle with the flat bottom is an ink bottle. I dug one of these which I still have in Eugene OR in the mid 1980's along with at least 5 master inks within 5 blocks of U of O when I was in school there. Rare bottle.

Tom I was born and raised in Huron South Dakota we lived 1/2 mile north of the airport road on the Eastside of the road. Back along the creek on top of the hill there are old Indian rings I would love for you to check out the area and see if you could dig some artifacts.

The dolls head you found at 27:17 is creepy af... maybe there is a reason it has been buried for over one hundred years!!!! I think it's great that you find all these buried treasures...I do the same in the NJ pine lands.. Awesome channel!!!!!

We love your videos. Your finds have helped us identify some of the old bottles we have found. I bet you would find some good stuff on our 1857 Farmstead. The house itself was built in 1875 and it might be the oldest farmhouse in the county that is still standing and in use. The last used privy spot has been found but the earlier ones, and the trash pits, are still a mystery.

Fun…love finding things. In a new home, we took down valances …uncovered padding -- that WERE HAND MADE QUILTS OF SUCH PRIMITIVE BEAUTY…that I was absolutely agog in my luck. I still have them.

I unearthed a 7 Sutherland Sisters hair tonic bottle in my yard. I don't know if you know who they were, but they all had hair averaging about 5 ft long, so P.T. Barnum sold a hair tonic along with a photo of the sisters to promote it.

At the risk of sounding gross I'm going to ask the question that someone asked you months ago. I didn't see that anyone answered it. You said you see a lot of tomato seeds in the outhouse pits. Could a person plant those and have heirloom tomatoes? Not that I would. I just wondered. Thanks Tom.

Memphis, TN - 1950s. We lived out in the country, and the milkman came at the crack of dawn. He left the milk on the porch. It was in glass bottles with a little piece of cardboard recessed in the opening.

I'm old enough to remember Milk delivery would come thru the Alley at my Granny's house in the mid 1950s.

A long time ago the house I lived in was having some foundation work done. They found a skeleton of a pig or boar, a few cooking utensils and bottles.

At the house where I grew up, my dad was digging a hole to make an outside entrance into the basement. The deeper he dug the more bottles he found.

Lots of interesting and one or two rare pieces.

Good to see a new dig video up. Still no manual mesh-bottom shaker box for sifting the dirt through, a brush to get the debris off the objects or a metal detector yet, eh? I'm surprised after a year now, especially a bristle brush. I'd consider that an essential item IMO. Would have loved to see all of the items cleaned up like the few shown at the end of the video. Looking forward to the next outing.

This is like going through my mom's spice cabinet.

The transfer pattern dish would date to the late 19th century and part of a dinner service which could be 90 pieces or more .Chatsworth is the pattern and may well be taken from a service from Chatsworth House a famous and important house just off the M1 North of Nottingham in the UK.The crown is a direct copy from the factory Crown Derby as most potters and the re were many liked to feel that they had a Royal connection and importance to trade and sell their products.

I had an idea for all of the broken embossed and the older bottles with a lot of bubbles or interesting colors. You could contact someone who does stained glass work, and see about turning the pieces into window art or even lamp shades. Get a couple of small pieces done and test the market.

Those were two great small pits!!

Working shallow stove ash dump with glass from later 1890s to around early 1920s and found that exact bakelite piece! Wasn't far from a baby bottle so I'm guessing it's from a breast pump or went with a nursing bottle.

Cool..nice soil. Try this in north TX…It takes a diamond drill bit to get through all of the limestone here. Quarries around, but also cotton farming and cattle ranches earlier. That limestone is not far from the surface. Do you have a diamond edge shovel? lol

That bottle with the angled neck super cool. Maybe some kind of alcohol burner? I drove thru Yankton this summer to get a feel for your digging stomping grounds. Pretty chill and relaxed vibe.

Interesting video,one question I have is how do you convince people to dig up their their yard? Do you have to re-sod after you're done or what?
