Strangely Canadian | Strange Tales from Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia is a small province on the East Coast of Canada, but I like to call it home. Many strange stories come from this part of the country. The most popular of which is Oak Island.
These strange tales are just the tip of the iceberg for Nova Scotia, one of the first 4 provinces of Canada.

I have a signed copy of Bluenose Ghosts and Bluenose Magic by Dr. Helen Creighton. I knew her personally as did my mum. She graduated from the same school I did ...Halifax Ladies College and I met her at several Loyalist teas and other school functions. As a young girl I lived in a manse that had much supernatural activity in it in Dartmouth , NS. Love your channel and thank you for keeping Nova Scotia folklore alive.

Digby neck is not a village. As a resident of Freeport NS I can say that it is a peninsula with a good number of separate villages. The story of Gerome originated out of whale cove, on digby neck.

I have lived my entire life in Nova Scotia and never heard of Gerome until I found the information for this video. Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks. I knew about staying off the black rock at Peggy's Cove. Bad undertow. A sudden wave with no warning. Its an old province that has had time to collect folklore and bump in the night stuff.

Shag Harbour, a very interesting story, What if anything crashed at Shag Harbour, Were two object discovered on the sea bed at the Shelbourne "Oceanographic station (actually a submarine detection post) Why did a soviet sub appear in the area? Why did the USAF have aerial recon flights over the area? What were the two objects seen leaving the ocean at the western tip of Nova Scotia and heading north (to the USAF base in Maine, Russia or space? What about other reliable sources that saw unusual sites in the night sky over Nova Scotia?

If you locate and read Cape Breton book of the Night, there is an interesting story of one of many paranormal stories, & this one is from Meat Cove 1938ish. A local gentleman in his Ford truck is on an outdoor trip to chop firewood & deer hunt. He encounters a sasquatch. The ending isn't what you expect.

Sounds like Esther Cox was attacked by a possessed man and that dark entity attached itself to her. But then I don't know much about the case yet.

Yeah, Mary Ellen Spook sometimes referred to the fire spook of Caledonia Mills is a great story. Happened about 100 years ago. Someone released a book about it earlier this year. There is also a book by Carroll(? )MacIntyre.
