if you are bilingual, try the color thing by thinking of the colors in another language. you'll subconciously stop reading the words cause your mind is focused on the other language and thus you can focus more on the color instead of the word. i tried this with arabic and it worked perfectly!

I find that the stroop test is a lot easier if you let yourself read the word normally but then add the word 'and' to it. the color the word is written in comes up automatically after the 'and.'

Recent AI research has shown that removing color from an image (making it grayscale) doesn't affect at all what we perceive the image to represent, whereas it completely throws computers off, even though the shapes in the image are exactly the same.
