Very strange improvised version of Strawberry fields, figuring out the chords and how to loop it as I went along. Last song of the night vibes. Wasn't my favorite track of the night, but everyone in the live-stream said they liked it as one of the best. So as I always say, my opinion of the songs and gig seems to be irrelevant! Haha. Added to #mattspicks by popular demand. The "Goodnight Caroline" version.

So I was re-watching Clapton cover “don’t think twice” at Dylan’s 30th w cropper &GE Smith , then it que’d this one up for me.... so I didn’t think twice, I just watched it again... hope to catch you streamin’ live soon !

Well , we missed today’s gig , due to bad WiFi...but there was this video , in my recommended again... so yeah I’ll watch it again, you know I will. I wish it had more views. It is certainly deserving... even with the minor slips , it’s just so good! I know it’s a one -off on the fly improvisation , it can’t be bottled and that’s the magic ... anyway, I hope you’re gig went well today Matt.... hope to see you soon !

Ha. I’ve been gigging for hours every day and the Wi-Fi situation has just been against me. Today it was the heat and the size of the crowd. Phone overheating and competition for precious bandwidth. The past two nights were just very crowded, very fancy private parties so the location of the camera for the stream was just too intrusive. Also cell service on Friday was bad. Last night was just too hectic and crazy to stream. Full dance floor. Nowhere for the camera. Craziness. Today was heat and crowd and bad Wi-Fi. Tuesday I’m back streaming for sure.

I'm just gobsmacked by how good, and complicated, your looping is. Maybe, if you find the time, you could do a voiceover commentary on one or two of these songs, explaining what you are doing and how - in particular with the tap dancing across your pedals. I have a million questions, like: What are you using your iPad for? Are you using Onsong or Bandcamp? Is it sending MIDI triggers to your effects? Are you running the X-18 mix through the same iPad? How do you get the "washy" vox and track effect that you so effectively use to break up the monotony of a track so well? How are you dealing with rhythm and dynamic changes across bridges? What are you using your FS7 to trigger? How are you calling up your Helix presets? How much are you leaning on the BOSS to do guitar effects and vocal processing? I've been watching the livestreams nearly nightly, and I'm just amazed. I love how you use a nice wet reverb to hang everything together and create a mood. And I've caught you fiddling around with the intro to Fluffhead a few times - probably inescapable when you are playing in Stowe - but have you done any Phish loops? 🤯🤯🤯🤙🤙🤙🔥🔥🔥

Thanks so much Rick! I'm glad you're enjoying my shows so much...OK..A lot of questions! Haha. Here we go...I use the iPad for reading the live-stream comments and for the lyrics. I use OnSong, but it's a buggy app. No MIDI from the iPad. I have two iPads one just for the XMIX. I'm not sure what you mean by "washy" but if you mean the AM radio voice, I use a lo-fi effect in the RC600. I'm just dealing with them....well, I guess, Haha. Various things, it's complicated, very complicated. I have no Helix preset, it's just a couple effects. Not much. I play Phish all the time! Sorry to be brief but I WILL do a voiceover commentary soon. I get lots of requests for this. Say hello in the live chat if you're watching and remind me you're the guy that asked me twenty questions😆
