Pregnant cats seek out a safe place to give birth when they go into labor. About 30 years ago, my co-worker found that a stray cat snuck into her porch during the night and birthed eight kittens. Almost everyone in our office adopted one. I was happy to give Buster a forever home. He gave me more love in 17 years than I could have imagined. Truly a blessing!

Cat realized she was going to need a babysitter soon and took it upon herself to find some applicants.

Mouse walked into that house like: “You’re gonna love me, you just don’t know it yet.”

Same thing happened with me. I heard a cat meowing outside, and I jokingly told my dad to "answer the door". As soon as he did, Jewel came inside and immediately rubbed herself against everything and everyone in sight. She was actually really clean and healthy so we can only assume she was in heat and ran too far from home. We never ended up finding the original family she was with, so we kept her. (1st couple days she spent with us, I put her under the blankets when going to bed, and she stuck her head out, eyes toward the ceiling, and put her paws up over the blanket as if to hold the covers down over her. It was so cute) She was pregnant too, and gave birth to 4 kittens. Her kittens were so cute, and energetic, but one of them wasn't very active. We named him Chubster, as he was born very, very fat, and as a result he had problems walking. He often dragged himself around with his front legs rather than actually walk. Every time he would try to use his back legs, he would collapse back down. Didn't help that his siblings would push him around the most. Honestly, Chubster ended up being my favorite of the bunch, and I always rooted for him to get better. He did eventually, and is currently living with my cousin. He's still fat though. One of the biggest cats I've seen I person. Back on topic again, Jewel has a love for every new person she meets, treating everyone as if they're part of her family. Still, I think she has a soft spot for me specifically. After all, I'm the only person she lets rub her belly.

Woman: *Opens door* Cat: *Rushes in* "Congratulations, you're gonna be a momma. Now where's the food?"

Mouse: Hello. I am cat, and I am full of cats. I live here now.

Imagine a world without cats. Actually don’t, that’s horrendous.

Keeping kittens with their mom until up to 12 weeks is actually really good for their development because they work on their social and communication skills during that time! They make even better pets and won't have as many problems in those areas

She had to be abandoned before. She wasn't nearly as dirty as a feral and way too docile. Fortunately she happened to walk into your homes.

She was probably an abandoned cat before being rescued.

This cat probably was a pet that accidently got pregnant and was abandoned by it's owner.

Mouse was like "This is my house now, and you're my mom. Btw here are some grandkittens!" I'm so glad she found her perfect home ❤️ and all the babies found wonderful homes and families too.

Mouse is a beautiful cat! I love how clever cats are - she knew she needed help with her babies, and she went out and found it. As soon as the lady gave her that first plate of food, Mouse was never leaving - she knew she was home!

I cried so much at this story. I think it’s just because how pure cats can be and how they can put all their trust into a human even though they could have had a really rough start. Found it super emotional when she gave birth. It’s like she knew she was where she was meant to be and it’s so lovely.

When I lived in Georgia, I befriended a stray cat who didn't want to be adopted but it often visited me climbing in thru a front window of my tiny apartment even while pregnant. I fed her and loved her. Well, one day I got home and she had given birth on my clothes basket. I was the morning anchor for an Augusta TV station, and she gave birth on a big pile of dress shirts and pants. People think news reporters make lots of money, but I ended up buying new clothes by staying home instead of grabbing fast food. See I love animals. Well, I found homes for the kittens and tried my best to love their mom. I love cats and dogs, have one of each today.

If you're looking to adopt kittens, I strongly recommend getting siblings. They are already used to each other and they'll keep themselves entertained.

I found my cat in an abandoned barn with her newborn kittens. It was a total fluke that I even went in there. They obviously needed help, because the mom was skinny and clearly giving everything she had to keep her babies alive. Winter was coming, and they didn't seem like they had a good chance of survival. After a lot of love and care, they were all saved, treated, and adopted. That was about 8 years ago, and I've had this wonderful Mama Kitty in my life ever since. She's such a little character. The best cat I've ever had.

Thought our stray cat was pregnant too until we found out she was actually a boy and just 10 pounds overweight. We call him Tubsy now. He’s so huge his stripes are looking like spots in some areas

Pregnant cats are VERY affectionate. Even strays will quickly latch onto the first human to show them any positive interaction. I took in a stray cat who'd been avoiding capture for months and within ten minutes she was curled up on my lap. Turned out she was pregnant. It's like they seek out security and connection because they're desperate for a safe space to give birth.

12 weeks is a good amount of time to keep kittens with their mother. That makes better socialized, better immunized, generally happier, smarter, and more calm adult cats.

they always choose the best places, a stray cat was wondering around my aunt’s condo 2 years ago, and I was acting crazy because I’m addicted to cats and how cute they are. And before I knew it, the next day, we were going to put our surf boards in the trunk of our doorless jeep, and look who was there, her 12 kitten litter! They were so adorable. We called an animal rescue group that was an hour away and they got the kittens but couldn’t find the mommy and one kitten. They don’t really update you on stuff, like how if you call 911 about someone they won’t give you updates on how the person is doing. The vacation is long over but I hope they found the mommy and kitten! The kittens were softer than marshmallows and smaller then beans and they were so cute!

Something similar happened to me, my grandfather really didn't like me feeding stray cats but one day a young Siamese cat showed up, he brought her fresh milk and opened the door of the house and she came in and stayed to this day. She looked young and slim, we took her to the vet and surprise, she was pregnant, she had a single baby that we also adopted and now she is neutered and happy with my grandparents.

She doesent even meow during baths that is my dream cat

You never give away an animal that comes to you and decides to be part of your family. That's a special thing.

This cat belongs to the cute kind.

This reminds me of one time when I was a kid, I was being taken to the childminder my mum used regularly for me back then, and we passed a box outside the vet on the corner literally across the street from the childminder’s house. I stopped because I heard a cat meowing inside and mum dropped me off, went into the vet with the cat that had been abandoned outside, and she found out the reason the cat had been abandoned was because she was pregnant. We took in the cat almost immediately, ended up naming her Nutmeg because she was brown and it’s a reference to one of my mum’s fave childhood shows. Eventually one evening, I came home from one of my after school activities that a friend of Mum’s took me to with her own kids, and when Mum answered the door, she told me to be quiet because there were kittens! She was kinda jokingly exaggerating the need for quiet, but it was still great to come home to.

My cat was also a stray who just decided to adopt us and invited himself in our house. He was severly neglected by our neighbor who was his owner and when she moved out she left him here. Now 4 years later Momo is the happiest nap machine around and we love him so much.

Omg this happened to me! A stray cat flounced into my house, looked around and decided, yep, my house now. Then 2 months later she had kittens! We kept them all, though, much to their mother's dismay lol. She was Dickens, Queen of all Things.

I love these kind of people who take in stray, helpless animals and help them without a second thought. I wish to strive to be this kind of person.

I'm glad she found a home and caring people. Such a cutie. Btw: Kittens always should stay at least 12 weeks or longer with their mother a/o siblings. Week 8 to 12 is the very important phase they socialize with conspecifics and learn "Cat things". This 8-week period is about dogs. I also hope this cat is now neutered. There are more than enough cats on this planet for everyone 😉.

It's funny how strays tend to seek out humans when pregnant, we had this one very timid black stray scream for us to let her inside our house and of course when we did realised that she was pregnant, she didn't want to leave either until she gave birth. I still have one of her litter almost 17 years later.

Experience you showed us , I've been through with five times literally , 4 stray pregnant cats coming to me because they know I'm a softie , A Labrador next door that came to me having 12 puppies , I have a shepherd dog , and I had to Re home every one of the cats and Mama dog and her Babies , M big Shepherd Baby has been a priority to me for about 13 years now , yeah , I also had a moment I cried when I had to re-home them as well , it's not easy loving animals , thanks for all you do
