Okay, disclaimer on my essay ramble (i didn't get to say half of these words in my reaction) I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO SHARE MY THOUGHTS AFTER DIGESTING THE ALBUM SEVERAL TIMES POST-REACTION- so yes, this is a few days after hearing these songs for the first time, i'm in my feels and... and i think IT'S ONLY APPROPRIATE TO SHARE MY FEELINGS AFTER MY FIRST LISTEN!!!: pls read this knowing I’m just straight up rambling & talking to you like we’re on FaceTime and I may not make any sense but I want to pour my heart out to you about how I feel about this album ok? Okay. Judging by the title (which, yes I know, NEVER judge a book by its cover, esp. a skz album!!! as they say in this album quite directly) I went into ROCK-STAR thinking I was getting a pretty up-beat, insanely powerful album from start to finish, mostly fun & fresh, filled with their signature fiery raps, unshakable fast-paced spicy-racha beats with explosive bass that would keep my ass shaking for days- and yup, we sure got all of it; but boy was I in for a bigger surprise. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not foreign to their softer, heart-tuggy b-sides… TRUST ME, I know what they’re capable of and it’s nothing short of EMOTIONAL. But let me tell you my heart flipped upside down when I came across some of my all time FAVORITE b-sides my ears have ever been blessed with… WOW. My drunk, overall take on this album (pls take this with a grain of salt, im furiously typing this with wine in my hand) The b-sides were far from just the glamorous ‘ROCK-STAR’ album title we’re presented with- this album, to me, represents exactly that- creatively starting with MEGAVERSE- yeah, we’re HOT, right? we’re STRAY KIDS, right??? we created our own megaverse and now you’re sucked right in!!! you're blinded by our hotness, all of you. We’re ROCK-STARS… right?! that’s what you people see, right???? on the outside- we’re rockstars, and well, we know it. and we WILL flex it. And we’re proud of it. but you know what? we’re much more than that. We go deeper than that. and we’re not afraid to show it, to share it. there’s more to this glamorous life you don’t get to see, there’s much more than just this TITLE we’re given after years of “success” the awards & charts & numbers. Simply: we’re 8 humans, who work hard, who have worked ASSES off from the beginning of our careers to create this path for us and NO it’s not easy, at all. if anything, it gets harder. we're faced with new battles every. single. day. we face daily struggles every day just like YOU. we have our own relationships, our own insecurities, our own complexes, our own stupid flaws, our own insufferable heartbreaks, our own bullshit, our own deep dark fears, our lonely nights, too. and being in the spotlight it doesn’t get any easier. So we’re going to let you in on a little secret: we keep going. We HAVE to keep going. To be the "ROCK-STAR"s the world knows us as, loves us as, the "ROCK-STAR"s that we want to stay and become, whatever that means? well, we keep going. We wake up, we work hard, and we do our thing. And you need to, too. It’s a message for you too. No matter what you're going through, "the sun is gonna be there after to rain." trust me. it will. there's always tomorrow. YOU rock your own world. YOU, are your own ROCK-STAR, too. And I believe that. my little rock-star, you. ♡ ♡ ---- ♡ ahhh~ i love this album!!! Rambly thoughts completely out of order: COVER ME: a song that leaves you crying in bed at the end of the day- asking no one, at the same time- ANYONE for help. crying to yourself because life is so, so fucking hard- but reminding yourself that there’s a new day, and you tell yourself you’re going to wake up and figure it out somehow, tomorrow. or whenever, whatever. a desperate plea to be hidden from the rest of the world, to sink into the covers until you disappear… but... you don’t. You DO want to be seen. deep down you WANT to to be loved, you want to be hugged, you want to be wanted. It’s a tug of war between feeling invisible, helpless, desperate for some attention and then wanting none of it at all. A battle of need. A battle of the lonesome. BLIND SPOT: lets us in on moments we can only imagine- all the hidden moments we don’t get to witness throughout their lives, their career, a reminder to you that we ALL have those blind spots, something we need to be more aware of & considerate of- everyone is going through something. Do not glamorize someone else’s life- "rockstar" to you or not, we all had to do SOMETHING to get SOMEWHERE. the "blind spot" is all the hard work that goes unnoticed. those endless, sleepless nights... the progress you made IS the difference that deserves praise- the journey you went through IS the story itself. please remember that. it's not just the end goal. it's what you learned during the path you took to get there. that whole "you have no fucking idea what i went through". so please, be mindful of the blind spots. COMFLEX: A huge confidence booster. it takes the insecurities we all have from societal standards and transforms it into an empowering message, a powerful, strong movement. all the shit we aren't so confident about... we say FUCK THAT, now!!! I don’t give a SHIT anymore what you think about me!!! Go ahead, have your judgements, think what you want. But you know what? ima do me. I’m going to flex myself, proudly… and you can’t say SHIT!!! why?! because! you. don't. know. me! I know me! And I love me! I'm the ONLY me. uniquely, me. And that's what I'll be. Proudly me. That's my flex. No one else can have that but me. LEAVE: Oh baby, please don’t hurt me. This song is about heartbreak. and damn, i felt that. We are left with this feeling of dread at the end because when someone leaves you- someone you care so deeply about- you are left with anguish, pain, fear, guilt, hurt. I feel like they left this on the end of the album for a reason. The feeling of loneliness creeps up after 'Cover Me’ and it shakes us to pieces. Because when we’re alone, we. are. ALONE. we wonder what we did wrong? was it my fault? what should i do? was it my fault??? these questions torture us and leave us hurtingourselves but.. oh baby please dont hurt me. please. in these moments of heartbreak we feel scared, we feel hurt, we feel "fine" (lying). in this moment, it tests us. "don't leave me". that phrase hurts so bad. "please don't hurt me". soak in this feeling for moment. sometimes we just need a song like this. a song that desperately clings onto our feelings. that gets us. and what are you gonna do about it? figure it out. figure out your path... you got this... lalalala~ Oh baby, please, don’t hurt me- "please stop for me" ??? i'm sorry, i need to figure out my feelings after this song. i want to know who i AM after i'm left alone. i'm afraid i'm in pain i'm okay. but- don’t hurt yourself. stop crying. Pick yourself up. And Please, keep going, even if you don’t know where you’re going. Let’s keep going together, yeah? Together: la la la la la, la la la la~ "a lonely leaf sits right next to me" also sounds like LEAVE, a lonely LEAVE- wow. just thought of that btw. *crying* this is amazing. this song gets us. our heartaches. i'm missing you. i hope you hear me... alalalalalalalalaLAAAA i'm missing you!!! ♡ ---- ♡ these moody tracks from heavy to soft, these lingering feelings kept me aching throughout the week. this album has filled my soul with tender heartache, an ongoing longing, an uplifting message with a bittersweet taste, an emotional pull you get when you feel deeper… closer with a person. this album is that of understanding a ROCK-STAR. it's everything you get with loving, well... loving a rockstar. ♡

It's pretty hard for me to cry with a song. I get emotinal, a million of times, but cry a mess, i don't usually do. Cover me was the second song (the first one was LoveStay) who made me to cry like a freaking mess. Literally. And the breaking point is the COVER ME from Seungmin. I have no words to describe it. They're amazing, all of them. I can't imagine a more perfect song than that. So yeah.

Silvia, I see you… 🌙 Cover Me is my favorite song of the album as well. Hyunjin wrote the song but the 2nd Verse wrote Bang Chan. I‘m truly a fan of Hyunjin‘s sense of artistic expressions. LEAVE is written by Changbin, and actually Lee Know said ‘old boy band feel’ by recording the song. Yeah Lee Know’s voice is special. Now that you‘re relating to Stray Kids and this album, I recommend to watch INTRO (KZfaq contents) they always release with every album talking about the album and seeing the behind the scenes of making the album.

Cover Me and Leave were so amazing and you also mentioned you wanted to hear Lee Know sing a song like solo and he has an amazing one called Limbo from the SKZ-Replay album. Cover Me and Leave is my top pick from the album, constantly on loop. The thought of what Hyunjin went through to create such a deeply emotional song is overwhelming.The way Hyunjin masterfully uses all their vocals in Cover Me is incredible. Given the song's vocal strength, I think SKZ is perfect for OSTs, with Hyunjin teaming up with Chan and writing these impactful songs. Listening to it, I literally bawl my eyes out.
