Ben is actually a great drama actor. Like everyone on VLDL is awesome, but Ben's written skits and acting h as something uniquely dark and sad about it. Edit - i didn't realise this comment has 850+ people liking it. My opinions never mattered so much so thanks ya'll and I think I now deserve a cameo or a special mention on VLDL (honestly, thank you everyone)

I ended up in a random squad. The higher ranked player says follow me, we do and they go quiet. He led us into several ambushes which we rescued him from. Near the end of the match he pipes in says “WTF are you guys doing bunch of amateurs keep getting me shot. My team doesn’t know what they’re doing.” When we hung back in next ambush and he died quickly we laughed and finished without him.

Speedrunner is my favorite out of these ones. It's just absolutely chaotic and accurate. Greg's utter confusion and not understanding what is going on. He's probably never seen the credits because nobody has ever beaten Skycraft before. Also Baradun shows up at the end to mess with Greg. Is it just me or did they patch Baradun and make him even more good looking?

Talking to 'chat' is the worst part of the streamer multiplayer experience. At a trader I stood beside someone who was yapping at his chat and kept the in-game mic hot, so we heard everything. After a while this other guy just starts playing country music over the in-game chat really loud to compete with it. Others started doing similar things. I had to switch instances to get away from the chaos.

The most unrealistic part of the first skit is the streamer being quiet. Any real streamer would be commentating the entire walk up the hill.

This lil scene made me tear up, probably cause it hits close to home (without the sti lol) but man, the emotion in it felt real Ben that was some good acting man. "like im questioning myself, like, is it me di- did i do something wrong? like why am i not enough?" is the line that really got me..

That print screen one had me in hysterics. I do alot of my own auto work and obviously look things up when i dont know or just as a refresher, and every single vid is this way. Like something insanely/stupidly simple like changing a hanging air freshner vid could be 10 seconds and will be 10 minutes.

I’m pretty sure it’s for the adverts. Afaik the video has to be a minimum length to be monetised, which is why it takes 10 minutes to get across 10 seconds of information these days. Even about of written articles suffer from this problem. If you answer a simple question in 2 sentences you’re not going to get any advertisers on your page. Even the news has this problem. It’s why it’s so full of nonsense, speculation, and drivel these days. What would once have been a single paragraph tucked away on an inside page of a newspaper is now a full blown article of 5,000 words, 99% of which is copy and pasted from every other article that has ever mentioned the subject in the last 10 years, even if it’s completely irrelevant in context. Even this comment I’m typing now could have told you everything you needed to know in as little as two or three sentences, but here we are four paragraphs in and I’m still typing for no good reason. What’s even worse is that it’s badly written, it’s not even entertaining drivel. There have been some marvellous writers of prose throughout history who could spin yards of copy that was delightful to read even though it was completely meaningless, and better ones who could turn an average column into a whole novel worth re-reading two or three times. Ok I’m done now. Like and subscribe (please don’t) if you made it this far.

@InceyWincey interesting. I assumed that was the reasoning as well, but it still confused me. I mean it today's low attention world ud think condensed info would be good business, as it's mean more folks would ACTUALLY watch/ready=more imcentive for advertisers to want to be there, thus spuring short form. Then again. Not much makes alot of sense nowadays so I'm clearly wrong. Most people don't function on common sense anymore hahah

I had the funniest dream this morning: Me hanging out behind the scenes with vldl and somehow the topic of donuts comes up... Me: "if you do jumping Jack's while eating a donut, the calories cancel themselves out" Rowan: "is that true?" Me: "absolutely not, too many calories in a donut. Best case scenario, you choke on the donut while doing the jumping jacks" Rowan: "BEST case scenario... is I CHOKE on a donut and DIE?" Me: "THINK... of the CONTENT, Rowan!!! It's been a while since I LoLed while sitting by myself in the dark watching KZfaq. Thanks Viva, I needed that. It was the screaming after print screen that got me. Made me realize that facing eviction with 2 kids because I got fired from my job when my license was suspended for lack of child support on those same two kids, the ones who live with me and always have, really isn't as bad as it could be.

This is why I love Jon and Claire at Many a True Nerd. Jon plays for awhile, with generally entertaining commentary and every so often, he hands it over to Claire and she reads out the comments and donations. Sometimes the streams go on awhile so she can catch up but they seek to have a really good system down pat. They're also super gracious. I've tried watching other streamers that don't have a moderator and it's just way to distracting for me. ETA: The second skit in this collection is probably more like Jon's streaming although he's more engaging then Rowan's streaming character. There's a lot a love on Jon and Claire's stream. It's a really supportive environment.
