Excellent video and review ! Can't thank you enough. I wish all reviews were like this. Fire Inspector here...been using my craftsman 90 degree light that I picked up in H Despot. Finally dropped it one too many times. You covered all the points, applications, and comparisons I was looking for...and more. Streamlight should post a link to your review...Well done. I'm convinced and will order one tonight. Thanks for showing that Olight as well...I'll have to pick one up... great option as opposed to fiddling with a headband apparatus.

My rechargeable streamlight battery does turn green when fully charged, it can take up to 5 hours to charge.

Thanks for the review, it was interesting seeing the lights together. I have the Perun mini and like it, just wish it had a battery level indicator and was available with a neutral white beam although the CW it does have is respectable. Although it takes a proprietary battery, you do know you can swap it out, right? Further, there are two other power options. It does not fully function with a primary CR123A, but it will run at 15 lumens and in the 2 lumen moonlight mode on a primary battery. I imagine it has to do with protecting the rechargeable from being overly discharged, but the S1R Baton II seems to hand a CR123A albeit with lower performance, so I don't know.The other option is to run the Perun mini from a powerbank since it will continue to run and charge just fine, and if you catch the cord the magnet will just disconnect without damage to the light.

I think it's definitely worth the upgrade my polytacx has one of those rechargeable batteries. The performance is awesome. The CR123s are so expensive. I'd much rather have a couple of those streamlight rechargeable batteries.

i use (ultrafire 17670 li-ion battery) to replace the 2-123a they are 12-15$ for 2 rechargeable and they sell the charger either wall or vehicle, those were the only protected cell rechargeable batteries at the time, i heard of others using that battery setup also, check it out, if you order do it from the ultrafire website to avoid counterfeits

Good reviews. Would you say the Polytac 90x would be a good light to wear on Turnouts? I was thinking about buying the knucklehead but the 90x looks like it’ll do the job.
@Str8Rippin93
Any chance of the light being damaged by using the 3500 battery?

I just bought the polytac 90, but they sent me the 90x? I'm assuming the 90x is better lol. It didn't come with the rechargeable battery, it came with the 123a batteries.

How does the 90X compare with the Streamlight Survivor Alkaline? Is the 90x brighter? Would you use the 90x on a turnout coat rather than the Survivor? Everyone I know uses the Survivor, but this looks smaller, same price, and brighter?
