@@rockero1313 GOT should have been much slower, but they are totally different stories with totally different source material. For this season to actually have payoff the Dance needs to begin at the end in some capacity. I believe thats the best way to do it, but yhea, it is moivng a lot faster than GOT. GOT seasons 3-8 really suffered for the pacing they chose, among other really bad choices they did. But GOT went too fast instead of too slow

I have been super impressed by Milly & I will miss her interpretation of Rhaenrya. I am so torn because I hate the lack of roles for older actresses but these aren’t super older actresses. 🤷‍♀️. Matt & Paddy weren’t replaced… I love Graham McTavish. His role needs to be expanded. The War Chieftan of Clan McKenzie needs more screen time.

I don’t understand why Alicent feels betrayed by Rhaenyra just because Rhaenyra lied about who she slept with. That’s Rhaenyra own personal information. That has nothing to do with her.

One of the reasons is, that lie got her father fired as the hand of the king. There are other reasons.

It's because Alicent believing Rhaenyra leads to Alicent siding with her - which leads to Otto being fired from being the King's Hand. If Alicent didn't believe Rhaenyra she could've pressured Viserys and things could've gone differently. It seems like Alicent feels like the downfall began with Rhaenyra's lies, while in truth, it all began when Otto started making his way to power through his grandson.

@@t0ntsa The problems began earlier. Otto shouldn't have pushed Alicent as the new Queen. There was no strategic advantage of Alicent becoming the Queen, except it made Otto and his house rise in rank. When Alicent got pregnant with a son then all sort of problems started. Because of that, war between Rhaenyra and Alicent is unavoidable.

Alicent felt betrayed by the Targaryens because the King dismissed her father although he knew, Rhaenyra is lying. she also felt betrayed by Rhaenyra whom she always defend in front of her father & husband. she felt Rhaenyra did the things she likes while she has to sacrifice her own freedom and it's unfair for her. she doesn't like to be treated unfairly any longer, the dress and her late arrival is the statement that she's about to take charge from now on. also, the Grand Maester behavior is kinda suspicious. if you seen him from eps.1, the Grand Maester kinda parroting Otto. I know the Old Town-Hightower relationship but I begin to think it was all orchestrated by Otto. Otto & the Grand Maester is the one who made the King slowly dying, to suggest the King to murd3r his wife, murd3r his sons in order to place Alicent to be his pion.

Alicent belongs to hightower family which has close ties to faith of the seven so when she knew that rhaenyra lied to her on her mother grave which led to the firing of her father.She realized that rhenyra is not someone to be trusted and when the time comes she can hurt her kids

Rhaenyra absolutely did lie to Alicent. She not only said that she didn't have sex with Deamon, but also that he didn't touch her and that she is still a virgin. And she did it swearing by her dead mother's grave, a very strong religious statement for those believing in the Seven, such as the Hightowers. Alicent now knows she lied about the last thing, even despite invoking the memory of her mother (again, religious significance). If she lied about that one, she might have lied about the rest too. Especially given the obvious flirting between her and Daemon during the wedding, about which gossips will surely soon appear. In Alicent's eyes it proves that Rhaenyra is manipulative, and not trust worthy. It means Otto was right all along and lost his job and his status because of that, while Alicent stood for and defended Rheanyra at the expense of her own family. It means that Alicent cannot count on Rhaenyra to be merciful and spare Alicent's children when her reign is inevitabily challanged. This episode marks the transformation of Alicent into a political player and the birth of the Greens - one of the fractions of the upcoming civil war.

No one intervened because a kingsguard's judgment is supreme. That's why everyone was just standing by the side because everyone assumes a kingsuard is perfectly honorable and wouldnt do any crazy stuff. They were probably thinking the kid deserved it because of some crime he made that the kingsguard was aware of.

Oh Rhaenyra you lied to me boohoo let’s look over the fact That Alicent wormed her way into Viserys heart going behind her bffs back gee Alicent does that sound like a betrayal? at least it was Rhaenyra’s business who Rhaenyra sleeps with isn’t Alicent’s and awwww heavy sigh she got Otto fired no OTTO GOT OTTO FIRED this was just one piece of a large puzzle of manipulation Otto was putting together and he got called on it like how he tried to get the King to marry Rhaenyra off to Aegon or how Daemon knew what he was doing then poof he magically said something Otto knew would make him send him away and out of Otto’s hair and then used his daughter to play on his emotions and “comfort” him while he was grieving and feeling the guilt he should over Aemma’s death Otto got Otto fired no one else did Alicent can stop playing the victim card and being so manipulated herself by her own father

You mean you don't like people of colour in a Fantasy novel based tv series. Do you know in this world they have the Kingdom of Yiti which is east Asian. Yiti is where it ALL BEGAN. DRAGONS, LONG NIGHT EVERYTHING. The first kingdom of men in the GOT world. Than we have Essos and Summe isles (where people are literally black). A true GOT fan does not care for colour of skin but more concerned for the STORY.
