This is the second round of qualifying from the SCSN 2008 race. Bob Bunker gets a bit wild in his 1955 Chevy, while Steve Cook in the Plymouth Roadrunner muscle car, carries the front end a lot higher than he should. Lots of fast drag racing in this video! Wow, this is awesome video, good variety of body styles and quarter mile! Way better than todays stuff, even though they are hardly street cars, I'll just pretend they are called Pro Mods.

The Bunker Family 55 Chevy is still around. I remember seeing early 60s photos of that car. Northern California drag racing.

What I can't figure is Ronny Rhoads and his Gen 1 Camaro with Leaf springs and 441 inch of SBC on drag Radials just clicked off a 6.38 at Budds Creek .. 212 MPH

Street cars? Do they have headlights, turn signals, brakelights, windshield wipers, rear view mirrors, license plate lights, license plates, registrations, etc.? Don't call it a street car if it isn't street legal

mirrors and windshield whipers arent requirements for a car to be street legal. after a certain year, in states that dont follow californias aftermarket parts laws, older vehicles can have any amount of aftermarket modifications on it and be registered and plated to be driven on the street. look up hotrod drag week, youll see cars of these calibur registered, plated driving 1000 plus miles inbetween 4 different race track. with that being said, back when events like these first got started and got their name out, it was literally street cars, hence the name. even then, the laws i spoke of above were taken advantage of and cars like the ones in this video can be considered street cars.
