Nobody likes to be in the corner; it's so dangerous in Street Fighter 6. Fear not; today I'll share everything I know about surviving the corner. This guide will cover the basic defense options first, then I'll give some more advanced tips, such as option selects. The key strategy to escape the corner is to know the right opportunity to gain space. These moments are very brief, so I try my best to give as many examples as I can. I also think this tutorial will help in other fighting games as well.

I was watching some recent DSP hate videos and it’s amazing the old clips they can pull to show DSP is being hypocritical. They gotta be having his shit on auto play.

Thanks for this tutorial. It gets tiring when opponents do the corner trap and it's difficult to counter it.

I don't know of any direct ways of side switching with combos for Guile, however a close range sweep can be followed by a quick Bazooka Knee to hop over them and will leave you +7 in their face. Usually this will involve whiff punishing with a cancelable normal and using drive rush to get enough plus frames to sweep but if you're a reaction god a punish counter crouch light punch will link into sweep. If you're not sure on the range drive rush bazooka knee will get you out but may not set up the oki scenario.

t@@BloodFromSpain yes, but you still got to make it harder for the opponent to corner you, stand your ground in the middle and only move back if necessary.

I've seen pro players jump out of the corner and don't even attempt a cross up. They just jump and get cross cut.

Forgot to mention that, you cannot jump out of the corner if the opponent strikes you just as you are getting up

That’s what the Delay Jump option select is for. Instead of holding up as you wake up, block for a brief moment, then input your jump. If they strike, you’ll block it; if they don’t, your jump will come out.

Most corner situations you are out of Drive guage so extra vunrable.

Same. I also don't know what he means by tech. I haven't played a fighting game since sf2... And I was good at that one. But nowadays kids can play online and become pro and train for this. Lol

@@jrg305 tech is just shorthand for breaking a throw. Like when you press throw at the same time as the opponent and then the game pushes you apart. I highly recommend googling the infil glossary and using that if you don't know terms. It's super helpful!

Best way to escape the corner is to uninstall and wait for the inevitable balance patches that will reduce how insane the corner is right now + dr cancelling and raw dr
