Although Ryu destroyed M. Bison's body in Street Fighter V, he failed to destroy his soul. In fact, thanks to his Psycho Power, M. Bison can transfer his soul into a new body if his current one is used up or destroyed. He even appeared to Falke as Phantom Bison in the aftermath of the main story. Also, in the comics continuity, Akuma supposedly killed Bison with the Raging Demon, but M. Bison used his Psycho Power to protect his soul most likely by exiting his body before the finishing blow.
